MXL2017 brought increased life, and physical resistance to minions and made them significantly tankier than before. They still suffer from a lack of elemental resists. This means you'll end up with reasonably tanky minions until you face any amount of elemental AoE damage that will almost instantly curb your entire army.
Minion resists is a difficult to stat to get. Its a rare roll, its uncommon on uniques and in surprisingly small quantities. I've only ever seen a pure summon build even bother with minion resists due to it functionally giving increasing returns and not very useful without large quantities. Maxing resists essentially requires several magical shrine crafts fully MOd with additional minion resists.
The question for discussion, is should minions be given higher base resistances? Perhaps gain something like +5 resistances per hard skill point?
