Hello, the back story is long and boring so I'll get to the point...
Dying a lot, have most gear/charms (etc), characters have been deleted (shared stash backed up).

I want to find the character that I'm right for, but I can't remember how to build/gear up characters anymore...

I enjoy: Fast paced characters (either moving/attacking fast, or keeping my hands/eyes busy), survivor (not a 0 defense bowazon), attack/damage multiple hostiles simultaneously. Flashy/unique looking characters/gear as well.

The character will be mostly used for farming duncraig and fauntz.

I am not incredibly impatient either, if the character takes a long time to learn and the gear takes days to craft that's OK with me!

Thanks

Sound like assassin to me.

All char can be fast in median, but assassin have blink from start for free (aside from using character orb) and shadow refuge which covered you running speed part.

I don't know a ton about assassins. Built Naganita and Tantrum before, they were good back before the new forum (when I started).

I've never seen werewolf before, tree guy seems cool (I died a lot with him, probably didn't build it right). Trap Rat wasn't fun (but was good), spellcaster and bow-druid was fun, but not that exciting.

Paladin, I've tried the bow paladin (transforms I believe?), and attempted a melee one before to no success. Also tried "book of kalen" and sort of epic failed sadly (was cool though!).

So... Does anyone have any links to these builds where I can view the equipment, stats, and skill trees? Also.. I'm not sure what guides are out-dated anymore. I've only recently updated for the first time since "the void" was released. I did try the "Guides" section of the forum, it looks pretty barren. Only 5 or so guides sitting there.

Hai mason_jar, have you looked through the guides in the old forum? I think the ones that are v6d version and newer should be viable builds for ultinative. Wolf is cool...its a farmer char and doesn't seem to be too dependant on high level gear to get started either. sMax wolf form, feed the pack, both berry skills. I maxed elfin weapons instead of getting acid fiends(dont go over 100cb obv) and its working for me. Then I would choose faerie fire uberskill for survival until you get some badass gear then maybe try out FoN for more powah! Gear wise you want on striking procs as harbinger strikes a lot and high attack speed, fhr. Teganze amulet and Lo(void rw) sword are good for mana problems and sword has really nice slow which is so very useful. Also wylands fervor armor has great mana on striking and attack speed but low armor value compared to some other options. Im using to farm sewers mostly which it is very good at u will see,and duncraig. Prebuff with +12 dru staff with lightning shield is cool too if you want :bounce: skill pots!
You dont ~need~ tons of Leech like pouncezon because the LaK is awesome. Not the most exciting char to play tbh but it works well! I will also recommend "kickstarter"atmg/wyrd/ways/judge sin guide on the old forum, I just started building mine and its very good and fun to play if you like more skill switch and strategic play. Youll need a good amount of abandoned shrines to craft with though getting a good shield can be annoying. Hope it helps good luck! :)

Thanks Mountaincreature. The gear won't be a problem at all, I already have it all haha. I'll look through the old forum guides (I didn't know those were still viable). Really appreciate the advice, thanks again!

EDIT: Does anyone think that the Tree Druid is viable? I can't find a single guide... If there isn't one maybe that's something I can work on. If not I'll try out the other builds listed.

http://www.medianxl.com/t500-2012-compi ... chucknoris there's a hybrid with acid fiends (scroll down the page to number 17)

you might find other (pure melee ) treewarden guides here http://www.medianxl.com/f4-median-xl-guides

there is one made by Marco here http://www.medianxl.com/h8-treewarden

they are a bit outdated , but they are still very viable . i'm sure you'll manage

Well since I have never tried the Treewarden aka Treant Brockman either, here's a few questions:

What are my damage abilities? Which ones do I not use at all?
I mainly use Pummel and Wildfire depending on if I need to cleave in a close circle or a long cone.
Sometimes I use Idol of Scosglen, when I don't know what's in the next big room and just want to faceroll it.
Elfin Weapons also seems like a good idea, feels like you take it for any druid-spec.

What is our Talent-distribution?
http://www.medianxl.com/h8-treewarden
Since this is really outdated, I was thinking about keeping Wildfire/Pummel at 1, maxing Treewarden/Elton John/Idol.

What gear do we use?
I am currently following Marco's old gearchoices, Carmen Arvale(until I can wear my Jitan (5))/Death Spur/Deadfall/Anthem de Frost/Cloudladder/Nymph's Grace (Seems like the perfect warden helmet to me) and MO-gloves.
What is better after a few more years of experience? Should I go with a 2hander instead and grab Lionpaw plus other defense oriented armor?

Use pummel, yes crushing blow is good and I think the set gives 75%...dont forget circle of life the LaK is good and 10% improved effect per hard point.
