Does the MXL community ever get together at Blizzcon, and if its never happened before, is there any sort of interest in organizing some sort of get together at Blizzcon in November?

Not american. But even if i was and could somehow attend it, i have a mortal hatred for Jizzard ever since blizz north dissolved. So no. But good luck with the entourage.

Right that was one of my concerns. A big part of community has a visceral hatred for Blizz because of the epic failure that is D3.

In my case it goes even farther back than Not-Diablo days. Maybe since WoW was launched.

Well, if I were from the USA, I'd probably attend it. But since I'm not: no.

I don't get the hatred for blizz though. Yes, D3 was an epic failure and it still is due to basically no customization via items (or rather: the only customization comes from overpowered sets, which makes all skills that aren't enhanced by it stupidly weak. This problem remains even after dozens of patches)

In any case, Overwatch is a pretty good game. Every character is different. You can see that they put some effort into it since usually there are maybe 6 classes in a shooter at most. Well... they have... dunno the exact number... maybe 25?

Heroes of the storm can be fun, too, if you have 4 friends. But if not, the community makes the game worse due to their flame-wars. That isn't only Blizzards fault though.

Well, I used to get a virtual blizzcon ticket every year, but ever since D3 launched I stopped for the simple reason that there's nothing that I'm excited about anymore. Plus there tons of sites that document everything. So if you can wait 1 day longer you'll have all the same information as well.

I'll be as blunt as i can about those 2 games in particular :

Overwatch - Higher budget Team Fortress 2 , with waifus and ults.

HotS - Blizzard theme'd MOBA, besides the theme its mostly similar to any other MOBA. In fact MOBAs are all similar to each other anyway.

I dislike Blizz as is now because virtually no one that worked in Blizz who made the company famous (Blizzard North) is there now. Now its all milking WoW and subtlely killing the Diablo franchise with their "massive update" of a "new" class and cosmetics after 2 years of RoS. Im not a D3 player but if i was one i'd be hella pissed. Truth of the matter is, Blizz is Activision. Need i say more?

Don't forget the number of classes though.

Except that in case of hots teamplay is much more important. In Dota LoL and HoN you can easily win the game on your own if you're fed enough. But in case of hots you have to run around together to be able to win.

tbh I don't think I've ever played a game from Activision. I have always only heard bad stuff about them, and hence never bought a game from them. So I can relate that you're pissed on that company.

But I think that's a general problem of the bigger gaming companies. I mean... why in the fucking hell do I keep coming back to this mod? Because nowadays games are shit and this mod is so beautiful and fantastic AND it has a great comunity as well. There are some indi games worth checking out, but the big games that are promoted all the time are all using the gamers to make only money, and release more shit games afterwards. An endless circle.

But who's to blame for that? The gamers who let game companys do this! If all gamers simply united and stopped buying shit games those companys would go bankrupt and they had to release good games without DLCs, season passes and all that shit they invented. But no, we gamers are still seperated by console gamers and pc gamer who keep telling "we're the PC masterrace hurr durr" and "consoles are more comfortable to use bla bla". That's the only reason why consoles do exist, even though a pc can do the exact same for a cheaper price. It's only to split the gamer comunity so we gamers won't go against the bullshit the gaming companies pull on us.

If it wasn't for steam who foster indi games, we wouldn't get many good games anymore sadly. Even though steam does the same shit as activision, they at least try to release some good games. (I know I know, the indi game companies make nearly no profit even though they are the ones who are creating the games. But at least they are made public that way, so future games from them will have a reputation already so they may grow more and don't release shit games. At least that's what I'm hoping for.)

If the MXL community would put in a good showing at Blizzcon, maybe we would grab the attention of Blizz execs...

i would hate contemporany blizz having anything to do with median. cash shop your way to 125. they remastered starcraft 1, the most they can (should) do is remaster d2 + LoD as well, but i'll be surprised if they even have the source code anymore. Actually i dont think they even care about d2 anymore, only attention its been given was to include it on their collector edition battle chest package iirc, i wouldnt put it past them to include d2 on its bday on d3 for the remainder of the month like they did with d1 a few months ago, so if youre a D3 player i guess theres something for you to hope for. For all my blizz disliking i have to hand it to them that they think of the little details, i just hope those future details matter long enough.

Blizzard has been well aware of Median XL for quite some time, and have even commended BLaz for it.
