First of all, that shield is just bad. Because holy melee scales phys damage and a little bit of poison. So that shield doesnt really give you anything.

Second of all, if you are gonna use a shield, you should go max block. And to go max block you gotta change all your gear to go dexterity instead of strength. And for this you need a good 1 handed weapon that scales from dexterity.

Sadly there isnt any good non-class spesific 1 handed weapons that scales from dex (or any of the paladin weapons). Your best bet is samael sword (Maleficence) or shark runeword in a high damage dex base.

There is not much point going 1h if you dont go block because it will just result in a damage loss. Also if you wanna go block

But its just a experiment, holy meele is suposed to use 2h.

ignore the 150 requirement. i made it eth with empyrean touch at 54% ed + x5 ed mystic orbs. technically this eth throwing spear is meant for lvl 140s. top end 600 dmg pretty strong excluding constant boosted blust procs. aka more realistic and potentially more damage than sam sword. i tested it in tier15 rifts and it clears decently well but lacks any real damage on bosses (its not terrible but it ain't great) and since dragonheart only adds vit bonus to %str investment dex loses some crucial survivability but still fine cuz dex is king late game.

over conclusions: holy melee paladin is just an absolute dogshit version of melee necro which does everything hmp does but better. literally
