'normal' diablo is WAY too difficult in 2.0

me and a friend just got to him and we have 2 town portals we were going to juggle since we already knew we'd die a lot but this is seriously too much.

he's constantly spawning more monsters and the moment we set foot through our partals we get stomped to death. add to it, the fact that elemental damage from monsters is now a LOT higher in 2.0 (act 3 is a nightmare now and just straight up bullshit)

OUR PORTALS HAVE BONE CAGES ON THEM SO WE CAN'T EVEN MOVE WHEN WE SPAWN BACK INTO THE FIGHT!

seriously, since when is median xl a kaizo mod from the FIRST Fing difficulty?!

i mean, yeah, we're using necromancers and expected it to be hard but we could AT LEAST make it to 2nd difficulty diablo as necros in 1.8. this first diff. diablo is like something out of the 3rd diff mod dungeons now.

WHY is this mod THIS much harder now? invincibility on act 3 monsters until you kill a specific nearby type of monster... pyromancer enemy which can hurt you badly simply by being NEAR you... and this diablo fight... who had the bright idea of increasing the difficulty THIS much?

Well, devs more concentrated on endgame content and balance, but apperently they dont see problem in early, like alot of builds cant even progress and level with "fun" and you need "overcome" to have fun later in endgame with op gear.

Like my friend said "good idea is to play something that you know its good, so you gonna have smooth experience" (idk what people should do if they dont know what will be good :D)

anyway its not difficulty, its bad class balance, just play something else, like caster sorc, or melee phys/ele barb, unholy melee pala or caster(idk), wereowl should be good

Median relies on shock and awe mechanics. Enemies attempt to be overpowering at all times and their only counter is overpowering them first. Some mods are great at making fun Diablo fights that are telegraphed and just as deadly however fair and are truly player skill focused.

Median used to give the player power however after many series of nerf's, player power has nearly completely been removed, where as monsters continued their wrath with only the removal of immunities and the extremely unfair.

This has left a completely unbalanced early-mid game in the favor of the monsters. Not the player. This is something the devs are aware of, and it's their game, so our perfect ideals are of no consequence. Even as of 2.0, they continue to show they care nothing for how non-endgame players feel about the mod.

They believe that changing mob's around to keep things fresh is an exciting change for the leveling process, it's great for a first impression, but after that, what has really changed?

My two-cents to correct the issue, there are two options: 1. Return player power. To be more specific, give players the ability to give themselves power. Reducing chance to cast, secret rw's, jewelwords, unsocketing, degrading runes, these were all changes made to reduce player choice, to reduce the ability of the player to make decisions themselves and to reduce build diversity, to make the game more challenging even if that's not what most players want. Do most players really want more challenge? I thought the game used to be harder than it is and it was made easier? Regardless, it's not our game anyway.

2. More mechanics. Make fights more player skill based. All fights. The random mobs I encounter in the den of evil, all the act bosses.. Telegraphs with punishing mechanics would go a long way, but currently with no choice in how to start gearing a character other than "god I hope something good for me drops before I reach andy", and if it doesn't? Guess I'll die. Regardless, it's not our game anyway.

Are you kidding me? xD

Well i kinda understand if u play some weird necromancer builds .... Summoner faceroll this boss, and u should be far before 50 so u can respec for free

Try to learn what build u play, diablo is barely moving, spamming nova and fire from the sky boss, just u wait when both of u met mephisto at hell when u take him to 50% xD

Ask? This is forum, if people got time to whine about the hard content at "normal", they should have time to ask questions in short question thread too...

I had no issues with Diablo. The only issues I had were Nightmare and that was only until I maxxed my res. The game isn't that difficult, you just need to think about what you're doing. Make sure to collect Amn, Ort, Thul and Ral runes and gems for res. Will help a lot

Problem not in "Ask" problem where new people starting class they like, and finding out its garbage and not playable at start without giga investments (muling), and people saying devs aware of this problem, but this problem not just from 2.0 version, its been like this years....

I understand that, but again ..there is 2 guys playing a Necromancer. Come one there necro is probably one of the easiest classes to play in median.
1- Summoner can faceroll nearly everything until end of Nightmare without proper gear
2- Totemancer probably even further
3- Caster is quite strong,
im not sure about xbow and melee but when i look at some items they look cool...
Its not like they started with Amazon that need u to run with 0 armor... they literally started with one of the stronger classes in the game...
Maybe its time to face it, either they didnt read the description of their skills or the mod is to hard for them. And im not laughing here cause i know people who got overpowered by jellies in terraria and gave up the game because of those. IT HAPPENS. Im not veteran 2.0 is probably like my 4th of 5th season, and i choose the WW Barb, but before i actually started it i made whole Normal in less than 2-3 hours as a summoner... running NAKED with just my skills and some crap gear i found on the way. No min maxing, this is not a HARD MOD
