I improved some runes graphics, have a look!

Its no secret that the new rune's graphics are a bit pale. i have done some modifications to the runes so they feel more like the others. here, take a look.

(note, i haven't done all of them, i've made a few just to see if you guys like it)

Normal is the rune as it it right now. Better is only the lines darker/sharper edges. Alt is my take on the rune.

What do you guys think about it? Would it be better like that? Should i do the rest?

Ha! :mrgreen: I felt the same and a very long time ago i did the same thing for runes and other stuff as well. (note the old xis rune)

I have both bmp and .dc6 (unit color scheme if i remember correctly) and i've also included gembags, if anyone wants them: http://www.mediafire.com/download/plptc ... embags.zip

Cool! since MXL 2016 is still in development would be nice to see these in the upcoming release

have these been tested in D3D and DDraw modes? There used to be a problem with some elemental runes and colors, they would retain a black background when in D3D iirc.

They haven't been tested at all, i tried but failed since i suck at modding but i'll try again. I drew over the rune and the darkest color of the lines aren't total black. The background is.

update: Got them working in a temp mod, glide and DDraw are working (tested with one rune with removed black background on the dc6). cant try d3d since its not working for me. if the black background is the problem i can remove it.

The current runes (the ones you drew over) are a bit smaller in size, have a red tint to them and part of their black background is not R 0 G 0 B 0 and so not transparent in game but with some stray black pixels on the edges, that's what i noticed when i did mine. If you want you can take the blank rune from my upload and transport the markings from your runes or put new ones, it's as the classic runes, so it won't stand out like the current ones do.
