My mind is on mercs. You could really make a tanky killing machine with bear + s.eagle, A1 and A5 propably the most hitting ones.

Yea, but i can't think of mercs using any extremely multihitting abilities. Arrowside (broadside clone) maybe, other than that dunno.

For sustain can you go Blood Hatred? I know it's not great but better than nothing. The -res component should apply to additional damage from screaming eagle.

Not sure about that one, life on hit doesn't go that high, untwinked level 120 you gonna have around 400 life on attack, thats not much, compared to let's say paladin's hymn. Let alone old blood hatred with 3000..
It also drains your hp at rate of 2% per second if you don't attack, it is quite annoying, since duration is long.
Thing with this skill is, before when you had to charge it with every hit, long duration was actually good thing, so it was harder to lose the buff, if there was no monsters to attack. You wanted as long duration as possible.
Last patch it got changed so that you charge it to full in 1 swing, and that means you don't care really about duration since you can easily refresh it at any point of time. But the drain still extends through all duration. So if you stop for a bit, do something in inventory, or chat, alt tab the game, its gonna drain you to 1hp, over 20-30s. Really annoying.

Earlier in the thread it was suggested that snake + stampede would be good for farming. Since there's 1 point in melee skills down to iceburst, one more gets thunderslam which should carry the poison from snake stance screen-wide.

Also, I think you can use s.eagle before any other damage to debuff in a wide area, then TS or stampede for wide area damage. That was my plan anyway, I've not had much time to play this so far. I was hoping this would be clearing screens at a time in dense areas such as Fautz or Dunc.

Originally screaming eagle used to be only defensive ability that throw barbs could use to reduce incoming damage. So that isn't unusual to use that.
As for tslam usage for poison spread, problem is low WDM modifier. Stampede hits for 100%, so it is gonna be 2x stronger, no real point to spread poison with thunderslam.

I hear what you say aerial re wdm of TS, but with screen-side aoe and 3s stun you'd probably be using TS anyway so half of snake stance's poison dmg is still nice to have. Also stampede aoe is a bit limited to a cone in front of you, whereas s.eagle is wide aoe similar to TS, so dropping s.eagle before TS so that TS is activating all that debuff damage (especially in areas that stampede is not hitting) - as well as stunning mobs - seems like free damage? That assumes you're farming in snake anyway ofc.

I'd have to try it to see how it works. The biggest prob with s.eagle is the time in the air. Aim it at anything further than the end of your nose takes forever to land so it could be a bit clunky for farming use.

EDIT Just to add, I'm suggesting this in addition to stampede + snake farming. Just adding in tslam and dropping s.eagle when it makes sense to do that. Just in case that wasn't clear. :)

I wouldn't use screaming eagle for damage for snake stance build. It is not good synergy imo.
Screaming eagle damage you want as much multihits as possible and ideally low WDM skill so it gets most value out of it.
For snake stance poison you want big hits, not so frequent.
Stampede has plenty of aoe to cruise through ubers and clearing whole screens. But using it to get damage from screaming eagle is simply not worth it, you only count 1 bonus damage per 1 throw, it hits once per throw. Thats not enough.

As for usage thunderslam for crowd control for any melee build sure, it has bit long cooldown, but it is useful utility.
