
Rising Dawn Amazon

Ever want to throw the sun at your enemies? Rising Dawn is a skill that's available on Amazon helms (along with a few other options for other classes) and does exactly that. The sun hits everything with magic damage beams as it goes by, until it explodes. There is one gimmick to it, though: the damage is at its maximum at skill level 28 and decreases after that, so we need to carefully balance how much +all skills we get from gear and charms to keep it at maximum potential.
Why Amazon?
- Very good defenses with the Shieldmaiden passives from the 2.1 Javazon rework. 2% base block, 13% fire/cold/lightning absorb, 20% physical resist, all for the price of carrying the highest base defense shield in the game.
- Spirit of Vengeance offers 100%+ spell damage, lots of reanimates to tank, and a nice max life boost.
- Move speed and defensive speeds are well covered by passives as well.
- Did I mention that almost everything is passives? Rebuffing is for Paladins, we've got suns to throw and... dawns to rise?
Leveling?
Rising Dawn requires level 110 when rolled on a craft, so you’ll have to level at least that far as another build (but ideally, you swap closer to 115-120 or later). If you get lucky you might find a level 88 hat, but don’t count on it.
2.2 Changes:
Spirit of Vengeance no longer requires a corpse to summon. Huge quality of life change, especially in labs.
Elemental Aegis fire/cold/lite absorb reduced from 15% to 13%. Probably not noticeable.
Indomitable no longer gives free 50% block, so you'll actually need to invest in Dexterity for block. It's about 2000-2500 dex for 50% block from levels 120-150. I'm not sure what the correct amount to go for is, or if we just switch devotions entirely.
Who knows what the relic changes will mean for the build.
