Hey, was testing different Compatibility settings with Median XL and the original Diablo 2 LOD and noticed this.

Median XL : Windows XP (Service Pack 3) ---- 80fps
Diablo 2 LOD : Windows XP (Service Pack 3) - 80fps
Median XL : No Compatibility Mode ----------- ???fps
Diablo 2 LOD : No Compatibility Mode ------- 200fps <

All tested with glide. Windows XP (Service Pack 3) seems to lower the fps and adds stuttering.
The Median XL Launcher automatically resets it back to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) if you change it.
Is it possible to remove the Compatibility Mode?

Isn't it just capped at 25 fps cause of how it was made? I think it's all the same.

d2 runs at 25 frames per second, the /fps command will only display 25 or less on SP, on multiplayer it will display however fast or slow your PC is ; values above 25 have no effect on game performance, since the game only updates every 1/25 seconds, for instance a machine that displays at 150 fps will not differ in any way from one that displays at 25 fps. You will only notice severe issues with frames if your machine is slow enough to go under 25 fps for whatever reason, but hardly anyone uses ancient relics anymore, i bet you could run d2 on an abacus at 25 fps right now /shrug

I actually can't even run the game in compatibility mode, If I do I get a NO-CD error. I don't know if my game/windows 10 is bugged or what, even reinstalling the game doesn't help.

Only real issues I have is that the game doesn't close properly (always ends in an error msg) and it's a bit louder compared to compatibility mode.

Now performance? I can't even comment on because my game doesn't launch in XP SP3 mode. I have to actually go to the game.exe in D2 folder to launch the game because the MXL launcher or Diablo.exe don't work.

Might be your game.exe also has compatibility mode set...
