Help getting setup

Hey all,
So with the recent release of D1 on GOG, it got me wanting to give D2 another play. After playing it a ton back in the day, I did also play with some mods - cant remember them all now, but I did remember Median

Kinda stupidly, I spent an hour digging around for the Discs only to realise I havent had a DVD drive in several builds....... I was considering getting a copy of the game from *somewhere* <.< (Because I am definitely done paying Blizzard for this game after purchasing it 4.5 times - the .5 is gifting the exp pack to someone). BUT, I might not need to, because to my surprise, I kept a copy of my install from over a decade ago!

So here is where I would like help. The game is a modded version, which still works! I launch it and it says Median 2008 across the background on the menu, and the patch says 1.12. I seem to recall the then-new patch of 1.13 breaking a hi res mod :S I think? What do I need to do in order to get myself to be able to play the current version of Median XL? I believe I do now need patch 1.13, if so, where do I get that. And is there anything else I should know, do you still need a mod to run "hi res"?

*E: Just to add another question - I have a folder called PlugY, I cant really remember what that is, I think it was to do with stash space? Do people still use it/is it needed anymore?

the launcher should automatically update but if not just download the client again from here https://tsw.median-xl.com/join. the update sometimes creates a new folder in your median folder so you might need to copy and replace the files to your original folder.

Kinda surprised its working tbh. I held on to the original patch_d2.mpq file that I guess the mod changes (based on the fact there was a backup of that file), so I put back the original one, dl the 1.13c patch (altho from more reading around, it seems you can use the later ones too :s kinda crazy to me that Blizzard actually put out more patches for this game!) which I found on a thread here https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/12674919688

Ran the Median XL Web Setup file found here, and it is working :O

2 more questions if anyone can help

1) How can I run it at native res (4k)?

2) Any benefit from using the 1.14LOD patch?

1) I'm pretty sure you can't. This is an old game. Even if it were possible, it'd look like shit.

It was possible to run it at a higher res than is currently available with this build. Back when I last played 10-12 years ago I used a hi res mod to render my then native res of 2560*1600. It doesnt make the game look better or worse, it just draws the whole screen. Its in a 4:3 aspect ratio atm, with half the screen black when running full screen.

1) not supported
2) game uses it's own patch, doesn't matter what you start from
