So I just finished Terror Baal, and I want to start crafting some mid-game gear, but I noticed that the shield is Sangreal in a sacred shield. Can you explain why? My Shadowmoon already gives me about 30k defense already and some pretty good absorbs and 15% faster cast rate, while Sangreal only provides about 10k defense and doesnt have absorbs or faster cast rate. The only pros it has over shadowmoon is faster hit recovery and faster attack speed, which doesnt affect casting. Is it okay if I still use shadowmoon in mid-game?

The demon blood aura grants spell damage, 50% to max life and a life regeneration. It‘s a good choice.

Like Hecht said, it's main purpose is its Demon Blood Aura. With 50% HP alone it makes for a much better defensive shield than Shadowmoon.

Ok, I've crafted and blessed all my mid game gear, except for a paladin helm/circlet, I havent found one and in the guide u mentioned act 5 pits as an area where I could farm for it, but i dont know what you mean by "pits". Do you mean the red portals? or something else?

Yes, those are what I meant. They're areas for elite mobs and are a good place to farm rare bases and a few shrines.

Highest bases you can find of course. Stormlord takes care of your stat requirements. Except body armor in which you can choose between Light Plate which has no speed penalty or Ancient Armor with more defense but has 15% speed penalty.

Yea but with some charm overall speed help a lot. In case, I going explain the difference between light armor and ancient armor.

Light Plate Sacred
Quality level: 85
Defense: (2743 to 3294)
Required Strength: 602
Required Level: 30
Sockets (6)

No penalty speed run.

Ancient Armor Sacred
Quality level: 90
Defense: (2875 to 3560)
Required Strength: 720
Required Level: 30
Movement Penalty: 15
Sockets (6)

Penalty 15 % speed run.

look at the number defense 3294 for light plate and 3560 for ancient armor

Per example, I have 350 % ED for light plate with base def 3294 perfect one lets do math

3294/100 = X/350

3294x350 / 100 = 11 529 def total defence for light plate

Lets do math with an ancient armor with base def 3560

3560/100 = X/350

3560x350 / 100 = 12 460

close 1 000 def ( 931 def exact) more than light plate. So, close 1 000 def will change a lot in gameplay than speed run.

Here another an example, lets compare with light plate and gothic plate, who is best ? easy Light plate until you get an ancient armor sacred that's it.

There are many options will boost your speed run from charms, ring, amulet , equipment etc. you never notice a bit difference speed run 15 % because it is really small amount number like 1.5% change gameplay not a lot...

You will instantly notice a -15% velocity hit without velocity boost like rapture/wolf stance etc. With 40% your character becomes unplayable without it.

15% velocity is different from slower run/walk on gear. It's like how skill IAS is different from item IAS. D2Stats show this too.
