Also, I need to vent about the Judgement day bonus. I did it 11 times - and 11 times I got the same guy spawning twice. :( :( :( . Then the 12th time, I got different ones to spawn, but messed it up by getting gibbed by an MIRV a split second before I portaled out. Thankfully the 13th time was the charm - if I was a luckier man somewhere in there I would have found the trophy, but obviously I am not lucky.

My Judgement day bonus strategy was a bit different that what you suggested. I first cleared the cathedral, then went back to the inner cloister and summoned, then dragged the bad guys over into the cathedral, far away from the waypoint (I liked to bring him all the way back into the corner small room in the far north, but that's unneccessarily far). Then I waited for Imperius/Mathael to spawn, and the second they did I town portal'd out. Then I went back in to the waypoint, and summoned the bad guys a second time. This time when Imperius/Mathael spawn, I kill them, then take the waypoint back to town, then run to my town portal, which leads me back to where the first one was waiting - should be able to kill him with 10 seconds to spare, easy. I was just using my standard ice/lightning melee spec.

I don't think there's a Trophy bonus list yet. IDK if the bonuses are even still the same or even if the Ubers that drop Trophies are the same. Trophies in general aren't really necessary. The only one I ever farmed was TA for the %DR. I never had the time, nor the patience, to do the same Uber 100 times just for a minor boost that might not even make a difference.

And yeah, J-Day upgrade is a pita. As with most Uber strats currently in the guide, the respec recommendation one is still the old XVI strat and hasn't been updated. Glad you found your own way to do it in the meantime tho. I've been looking at a number of different ways to do things without having to rely on respeccing, so I'll try your strat out too once I get to that point.

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated.

I'm currently farming Terror TA (7th run btw) for mid-game gear and gear sets drop frequently. What gear set should I keep? Elemental Children? or none at all?

I already have 3 of your core gear(just alternatives). Some mobs at dest Act5 still can 1 shot me. I have 270k def, 80+ resistances btw.

Anyway, is it better to use %TCD than %ED ?

RW items has rlvl of 100 so you can put 5 MOs there. What is the best option of MO to put in the gear ? (for weapon and armor)

fcuk english.

I'm not that far in the testing yet, so everything I'm gonna say is theoretical...

Generally, 350k is the bare minimum defense you need by the end of Destruction (about 550k for Ubers). But even with high defense, there still may be certain enemies that will 1-shot you, either b/c of the type of attack they do, and/or b/c Sorcs have notoriously low life pools.

TCD vs. ED depends on what skills and the type of gear you're using. First, consider your skills: If you're using Warp Armor, then ED is probably better b/c Warp Armor already give you a TCD bonus. If you're using Snow Queen, then TCD is better b/c Snow Queen gives you a flat defense bonus. Next, consider your gear: If the piece already has a high ED bonus, then use ED to cap, followed by TCD. If the piece has no (or low) ED bonus, then just go straight TCD.

For RW MOs, either ED to cap, then LoA, or just straight LoA. The nice thing about RWs is, you can experiment with MOs to see what works better. And if you fuck it up, then you can just disjoin and remake it.

And yeah, fcuk english.

I tried what you suggested but when I put 5 %ED MO in a item that already has 200%ED it just ends up in 229%ED which should be 260% right?

Is there %ED cap for every item?

is there a way to reset the MO'd item? I'm using Fire/Ice spec and used alot of %ED MOs and probably reason why I can't reach 300k+ def.

EDIT: For RW items
EDIT 2.0: Is Amulet/Ring with flat +Def MO a good idea? I'm already res capped so ....
EDIT 3.0: I just saw the main thread and you said Fire/Ice spec might be reworked or removed. Should I change to Ice/Lightning Spec?

Yeah. The ED cap is 200% on the base, then another 200%(?) after the RW is made.

For RWs, yes. Cubing a RW with 3 perfect gems and an Oil of Disjunction will unsocket it. Then you can just remake it again. For SUs though, there isn't. So make sure you know what you want before orbing them.

TBH, I don't think +Def MOs on jewelry will make too much difference in the long term. But if you wanna try, just find some junk rings/ammys and orb them to see what difference it makes. That way, you won't ruin your good jewelry.

I don't wanna say for sure, because--again--I'm not that far in the testing yet, but right now it's looking like Lightning/Ice may be viable throughout the entire game (Fire/Ice is still viable, it's just a harder spec to play). I tweaked the spec a bit (it's in the mid-game "Build" section), so have a look and see. It might work out better for you.

I just respec'ed to Lightning/Ice. My def drops from 280k to 220k. This is probably because of 1 point in familiar.

I kind of fcked it up. I can't move forward in dest Frigid Highlands now.

I'll just farm in terror TA and get Elixir and then put some points in familliar (prob 16+ points to get +4 or +6 to all skills) then put the rest in either Fusillade or Blade Spirits.
I think having 20k+ life on blade spirits is useless if your elemental passives is low.

why dafuq my char is so weak lol

Wait, what? 280k to 220k defense after switching from Fire/Ice to Lightning/Ice? That doesn't sound right. Lightning/Ice is the most defensive spec you can use. Fire tree has no defensive skills, so there's no defense loss by not using it, and Snow Queen would still be maxed. The loss of +4 skills from only 1 point Familiar would drop your base defense a bit, but maxed Warp Armor would give you so much TCD, you wouldn't even notice. You should be around 400k, if my math is right.

Hoping to hit Destruction tomorrow after work (well, today I guess--it's 4 am here), so hopefully I'll have more concrete advice.

I just restarted the app. My char hit 360k def now and was still farming Terror TA for gears.

Thanks for your advice anyway. :D

EDIT: I just found
Bloodbond
Bloodbond
Ring

Required Level: 50
Item Level: 50
1% Chance to cast level 50 Burning Veil on Kill
+50 Life Regenerated per Second
Physical Resist 2%
+1% to Experience Gained
. Is it better to use that rather than another
Empyrean Band
Empyrean Band
Ring

Required Level: 40
Item Level: 40
1% Chance to cast level 18 Singularity on Kill
(3 to 5)% to All Attributes
Maximum Life +3%
Maximum Mana +10%
(5 to 15)% Gold Find
?

EDIT 2.0: Ah ah ah Look what I've just found after farming Terror TA countless times. :D

So i made Gehenna in non sacred Warp Blade but i feel like it is worse than TU The Warped Blade. Maybe because of the 18% of crushing blow in TU. So i guess crafted Sacred Warp Blade is the best option then. I hope i will find sacred warp blade someday.

@Aslaii - %TCD is probably always better than %ED, at least if you are ice spec (snow queen). What I did was I took my (buffed with familiar but not ice elemental) defense on the character screen and divided it by my current (%TCD+100%) then multiplied by 100%, then I multiplied by 0.04 - that number represents how good a TCD MO is. Then I looked at the item in question, its defense value, and multiplied that by (%ED of the armor+115%)/(%ED of the armor+100%) and then subtract the defense of the item - that number represents how good a %ED MO is on that item.

For example, using my current armor, it has 7011 defense, 185 ED and my character has 203910 defense and 410 TCD. First, the TCD MO:

203910/(410+100)*100*0.04 ~= 1600

Then, the ED MO:

7011*(185+115)/(185+100)-7011 = 369

1600 > 369 ... the TCD MO is about 5x as good in this case.

Engishier version of the maths - Basically my character has 40,000 defense (about a third of which is coming from snow queen) before various things multiply it, and 4% of that is more than 15% more ED on an item would be.

I'm sure that maths are more nuanced than I make them out to be (%ED on superior items, ethereal items, lucky bonus and ice elemental aura may all cause some sort of problem), but I feel comfortable saying that despite those errors I can generalize that TCD is the way to go, while it is possible that ED might be better those would be corner cases/exceptions.

I was wondering, how reliant on the Ice Elementals is this build? Can I make due without them, or will it be an exercise in futility if I don't use them? I'm rather concerned that they'll just be slaughtered left and right in places like Tran Athulua, and I'll have to keep summoning them every other second.
