Iron Spiral Barbarian Guide. Updated on 1.13 pandemonium

This build is very beginner friendly and can do games content pretty well from level 1 to level 120 and beyond with minimal gearing. This build is highly customizable so dont keep this guide as a bible. its just a guideline to one of the setups that works well and worked for me!

Pros:
- Not much skill switching
- Not so much item dependant
- Fast traveller
- Aoe Damage
- Good single target damage for ubers for example
- Easy ubers


Cons:
Lower damage than Deathgaze.


Skills:

early and midgame:
6 points to iron spiral and 1 all the rest melee skills.
max deadalus
max Runemaster
max bear stance
max point to immortal

10 points to spirit guide
10 points to wolf companion
1 point to mountain king
1 point to spirit walk
1 point to thunder god

This skill build ain't absolute its modifiable as much as you want. You can basically build it how you like, just keep highlighted skills as they are.

Early and Mid game Stats:
Str: All Goes Here
Dex: None
vitality: None. If you think you are too squishy you can put all points also on vitality. you get more life but lower damage.
Energy: None

Breakpoints at level 120 with charms and good gear:
147 attack speed for 7 frame attack
280 Faster block rate
200 Faster hit recovery rate
Defense you should get around 600k with bear stance if not even more.
50% Damage reduction
250 Life after each kill or more if you can.
50% Life steal (from jewels mostly)

on below videos i didn't even hit many of these but was still able to do farming pretty well.

Leveling: This is straight forward. Equip sword level up iron spiral and get going whacking! there is nothing special you need to know. use lion stance until you get bear stance and use that until you get wolf stance. after that go leveling up wolf stance up :). below items can carry you to A5 destruction just upgrade items with Arcane crystals you get.

Sockets: early on just use runes on sockets what you think is useful.
Mo's: Resistances on jewelry. about 86% fhr is fine to go as for now.

Mid Game:

Gearing and farming: Best place to farm first defenately is kurast 3k it is located on torajan jungles and the beginning of the jungle. (red portal) use bear stance and skeletons immunity ain't a thing to you anymore. just use iron spiral to kill them up and farm items. with this build Duncraig is easier than TA until you get life per kill from items. just avoid barrels with windform like in the video.

on early and mid game you can use mountain king for stats but spirit guide provides you damage and defense that you need in late game more than some more strenght or dexterity :)

why would you put points into mountain king? it scales with soft points and it has diminishing returns, otoh 10 points in spirit guide give 150% tcd which you only get with hard points

I see you're suggesting doom + ttad amulet for midgame, that's a bad choice because doom without hard points adds very little damage and it overrides hunter's mark from wolf companion anyway, also ttad only applies to direct melee hits which makes it pretty much useless. Lightning arena oskill otherwise is quite useful for crowd control

you should definitely put 1pt into spirit walk so that other players and your merc can benefit from your stance, unless you play with bear stance on realm then you can skip the spirit tree and save 5 pts

if you go for bear there's no need to max it, 1pt gives 26% dr and each additional hard point only adds pitiful 1%dr so you can put some points if you have leftovers but just enough to get to 50% dr cap considering gear

I tested bear but in the end decided to ditch it and just go for wolf stance, this way I can use fortress without switching and buff merc + other players. some life leech and/or laek and some dr% from gear provides enough survivability anyway. I'm using yaerius' simulacrum set ancient armor atm and I think it's gonna be hard to beat, very nice item 8-)

imo smax wolf companion works very well with iron spiral mechanics, red enemies die instantly but physical immunes are a problem, especially because I decided to skip daedalus since it only applies to the barb and I prefer to buff the whole party if possible. for farming TA tho this build is insanely fast :shock:
