I'm a fan of Kambala's offline tools, it's great work. I'm not sure it has all the functionality of PlugY though - some differences I've found are:

Being able to place items where you want. With OLT you can move items to the shared stash and then on to another character if you want, but the tool decides where it goes, so you don't get stuff arranged the way you want it.

There's also mouse-over. When you point at something in the tool you don't see what it is unless you click on it.

You don't control creation of pages, the tool creates a new one when it can't find room on the current pages. Tht can be tricky if you like to have lots of pages in Shared Stash, with Plugy after the first 10 or 100 I liked to go up page numbers 10 or 100 or 1000 at a time, leaving gaps, so I could use the fast-forward buttons (yeah, I kept a lot of crap!).

And you have to be logged out of a character or it doesn't get updated with OLT but with PlugY your could do and see everything in-game.

Just a few random thoughts on differences I've noticed (and maybe I missed a few tricks with OLT).

Not knocking the OLT at all, like I said I think it's great work and a whole lot better than nothing.

I did/do the same thing. :) Always the same system, crafted jewels on 30, su's start at 100, sets at 200 etc...

I've come to like Offline Tools better than plugy though, that sorting system is god-send as my stash was always a mess even with the system, farming is much faster as you can just farm until cube is full, move it all to shared stash with one click and continue on farming.

I guess that's the one difference - I dont put things in the cube while playing but I can see why people might do that.

But... don't you have to take the character out of a game with the tool or it won't update? I seem to remember Kambala saying that in the thread and I know from my own use of it that it doesn't bring things IN to the character if you use the tool while the char is in a game. I never tried sending them out though.

The thing about dumping like that though, is that sooner or later you have to sort out the mess! Maybe using both would be good - tools to dump, PlugY to sort in game (or just a button in PlugY that transferred everything in inventory/cube to Shared Stash). Then you could leave page 1 empty and sort it out when you feel like it.

Of course the tools do much more than just shared stash. I found an old post talking about an Online version (by Grigg - I think?). It would be good to see that working again. Maybe more people would play online.

Yes of course out of a game as you have to save the character with the tool. But this new patch made exiting and starting games even faster so it's no trouble, at least in my book.

Well I have played quite a while after self-wipe and the sorting feature is so effective that I propably don't have to worry about the mess for a year or two. Of course if you are true hoarder and like to collect every +1 skill amulet and random stuff that "you might someday need for another char/build" that's a different story. Funny that I'm IRL like that but not with arpgs.

That's good to know - I never tried the sort button because in most games it makes a real mess so maybe I'll try it after reading your post.

I think most people would like to have items accessible in-game though and the fact that PlugY existed means that everyone knows it can be done.

I read that someone had PlugY working right after Sigma came out, so I was surpised when they didn't post it up for us to use.

If you do, make a copy of the shared stash file first in case you don't like how it turns out. There are some settings to tune that sorting but I'm just running with defaults and it's working fine.

Yeah it would be real nice in-game but people just have to adapt and wait what happens to the stash in the future patches.
Maybe someone got PlugY working but that doesn't mean it works without problems with the new engine and all the tweaks the team keep making. But this has been debated in countless topics and whist/marco themselves have pointed out that PlugY ain't coming back.

No need to wait for anybody's answer. Use the search function, this topic has already been tirelessly tackled in what I could only describe as an absurd number of occasions.
Complaints and Grievances
Median sigma and plugy
Chest Slots
Stash Size and Shared Stash?
PlugY and median xl
will sigma ever get plugy?
Will median xl have a plugy?
Doubt about the Personal Stash.
Stash size? Am I the only one?
And many more...
I'm starting to think that at this point we should just lock any PlugY threads right away. Tbh it's getting a bit ridiculous.
