Those items add +skills to the referenced class, they don’t add to the max points you can put it. Say you maxed iron spiral with 20 hard points and equip the +5 barb skill belt, your iron spiral will be at 25 points.

I don't quite understand the question. I haven't heard of "maximum barb skills". There are a lot of items with "+ maximum skills", which allow you to put more hard points into skills if your level allows it. There are items with "+ all skills" or "+ barb skills" which increase the soft points. This means the level of the skills is increased by the respective amount, but you can't put more hard points into the skills. Most skills benefit from hard points (putting points into the skill yourself), some of them have synergies from soft points that you get, as I already said, from items or some charms. There is also "+ maximum barb/nec summons", which increases the total number of summons you can have, but not the hard points you can put in the skills. Hope that clarifies it for you.

Sorry, it's me who mixes up the different stats with each other. It clarifies it, thank you! But "+maximum skills" should always enable me to put in more hard points into a skill if I have the level required for the next skill level, correct?

There is no lvl requirement for more max skill levels.

Does Mercs have to last hit enemies to trigger its equipped items with reanimate effects? Thanks.

Yes, the mercenary has to land the killing blow (same with magic find on his gear)

Hi,

I want to prepare a helm for a rune word for my Barb (I know the process).
Regarding the choice of helm - Is DEF the only valid criteria ? Do Barb-helms have any preference over regular helms?

Thinking of a bow druid, druid bows are str based, str requirement and extra damage from strength.
But would a normal bow not work? The one that gets extra damage from dex?
Would a dex bow druid be worse than a strength one?

A normal bow would still work, but your damage scales with dex instead so you have to allocate points into dex. Since all gear requires str already (literally nothing else needs dex), it's not a smart option. Plus, druid bows have higher damage than regular bows, generally speaking.
