Hi, tooltip says damage increases with uncapped cold resistance. But it seems to benefit from cold spell% too. What's better when it comes to MOing/runes/etc. ? Does 10% cold spell damage increases Ice Bolt damage as much as 10% cold resist ?

IBN scales with energy, EF and cold spell damage like any other normal cold spell. It just scales even further with cold res, so now you have to stack that as well. When it comes to gearing, the usual "rule of thumb" for caster still applies: max pierce to 135 (IBN is not for boss so don't bother with 170) then get as much cold spell damage and energy, EF as you can.


For MO, 5x cold spell dmg > 5x all resists on armor. On rings and ammy, MO with 10% csd and 35% cold res (this translates into about 17% synergy).

Perhaps somebody can shed some light on the correct scaling, but it appears about half of your cold resist is added to your synergy, bypassing the 444-459% cap. So let's say you have 800 cold res and 250 synergy, you now have 650% synergy as far as IBN is concerned.
