Help! +sk gr doesn't work for my character

Hello, guys
Neither +character sk gear nor +all sk gear works for my ladder character
But +all sk gear does work for my mercenary indeed (I can find this in offical docs)
Did I miss part of docs descripiton?? I searched offical docs and found nothing related. :?:

You're probably not looking at the right place. Check in the character sheet or open the skill tab and hold shift while hovering a skill to see the lvl of the skill. If you're not holding shift, only the maximum number of hardpoints that you can put in a skill will be shown.

yes, the default ui only shows the base sk.
