Stormcall can't catch a break, can it? From 1.0 basically killing the build by making its main gimmick (bypassing immunity on a farming skill) irrelevant, to the most popular Amazon build when it got its shiny new single-target skill in 1.3, to an extremely unpopular build near the end of the 1.x patch cycle, getting reworked to a dexterity-scaling caster for a moment there in 2.0, it now has a new rework in 2.3.

And after all of those changes, it's pretty good now. The single target damage potential is extremely high, and though it has a few issues sustaining life and mana and is a bit glass-cannon, the reward for playing the build is good enough for it to hit the top of the ladder.

Now, this guide is a little different from most in that I will admit to have not actually played this version of the build yet. I've played it in XVc, 1.1, 1.5, 1.8, and 2.0... but not yet 2.3. Mea culpa. The build is straightforward and I thought it deserved an updated guide for newbies to follow along with the top of the ladder, since the previous guide hasn't been updated yet. Early and midgame choices are fairly obvious. Endgame isn't too hard to figure out, either, but a couple of details are interesting.

Storm
25 Thundermaiden: 30 free pierce and lots of spell focus
30 Stormcall: scales damage of both itself and Askari Lightning
30 Askari Lightning: primary single target spell, keep at lower level while leveling for lower mana cost
7 Conductivity: Stormcall drops Askari Lightning on hit, dramatically increasing farming speed
5+ Discharge: permanent uptime of another 20 lightning pierce
0-7 Resistance: base block can be useful defensively but requires Dexterity investment

Divine
1+ Wild and Free: both the move speed and hit recovery bonuses have diminishing returns, but 5-10 points here is pretty solid
1 Balance: flat defense is OK with the Thundermaiden bonus, but less important than anything else we have
1 Ecstatic Frenzy: turn on while summoning Spirit of Vengeance to remove the reanimates
1+ Defensive Harmony: effectively reduces damage taken after resistances, and the slow is very nice for safety in farming areas (bosses are capped at 25% with 3 points in this skill). I think this skill is underrated, but it's not a top priority.

Mastery
10 Specialization: more skill levels more better
5 Chemistry: potions are the build's primary sustain
your choice for 3rd mastery, 3 Meditation / 10 Endurance

Reward
15 Spirit of Vengeance: huge spell damage bonus and lets you run jewels or runes in your sockets
1 Spellbind: useful debuff
10 War Spirit: 500 flat life is very good, and scales with any %life you may have

4-5 minutes sam kill is also a bit over, plz nerf it to at least 6-7 minutes in 2.4, which is the average level a good build should be, instead of 2 minutes sam kill in 2.3.
Better make its leveling curve smoother, especially early/mid game, like being a bit more tanky/better clearing speed in early game. But the single damage really needs a major nerf in late game, at least a 50% lategame dps nerf, or more than 50% in my opinion.

Nerf watever you want but pleez be sure it won't touch early-mid... in other words - nerf endgame items used, not skills themselves (currently tried this ssf and it's kinda painful already at 115 in TUs.. already farming cowes for like 3 weeks for no even Ded lake lady so.... meh, will just re-do as javazon for having ability for at least farming Dunc somehow fast with reasonable mf :) ).

You need to either play more carefully or use Askari for farming in early game. And have you tried

for some meatshields? I see a lot of people gloss over it when it's a very good tool for surviving early game on zons that can use a shield, especially now that fire eles are restricted to bloodzon.

I slapped together the TU setup on the dev build just now and it's performing about how I expected it to. In Duncraig, 5k-7k tooltip stormcall struggles since it doesn't consistently stunlock things and you get swarmed, 30k tooltip askari (slightly weaker than live at the moment, will probably be coming down some more even at this level) onehits even lightning absorbs.

TU setup, LSD and SF MOs everywhere, Nef runes in all sockets. +20 zon skills, 447% LSD, 420 SF, 61 pierce (effectively 81 with Discharge), 842 energy.

How do I want spend my MO? I don't have any fancy Unique ones yet. Playing SSF with group of buddies. I have all the breakpoints minus the 400/600 one but that seems unrealistic to get. Should I just focus Lightning Dmg + Spell focus till that hits 1000? Farming Frautz np trying to move in Scog but having issues. Any tips? Using most Mid game gear.
