Because of a mistake the guide author made when writing it. Ignore that part.

I am playing elemental barb and can confirm that spell damage and spell focus does not add to IED damage, in spite of what tooltip is saying. It is the same issue with IED cold werewolf.

IED/weapon elemental damage and spells are not the same. Even if it says lightning it does not say spell. I dont see any tooltip claiming spell damage.

Charged strike oskill - charged bolts deal pure lightning damage?
Or 100% weapon damage as physical and only deal aditional lightning damage from skill distription?

Its plain 100%wdm dmg + a bit of light dmg, adding all ele/magic dmg u have too.

Nephalem spirit on barbarian have only fire and lightning bonus? No more cold? Or i miss something?

wait i'm a bit confused. are you guys saying that spell damage does not add/affect the elemental damage of a weapon? like, if i'm using a claw that has 1-600 lightning damage and add %lightning spell damage it will not increase that damage?

currently, my crossbow on my necro is fire damage based and %spell damage increases tooltip. so is that tooltip increase shenanigans or am i not understanding properly what you guys are saying?
