I check in on Sigma periodically just because it looks so FREAKING AWESOME. There are more people excited about this than just the ones posting all the time. Great work Whist! Can't wait to play!

Aye, I'm currently doing the same thing. I've done everything I wanted during the past ladders and I'm burned out on mxl for now. I frequently check the forums to see if there's new info about sigma (or a release date :flip: )
Sigma is looking absolutely fantastic, I can't wait until we can finally play it!
Lots of respect for everyone working on it <3

They showed they don't want to change resolution :D I mean seriously... Patch comes out in 2016 and you don't add bigger resolution???

Well yes that's one of the problems that sigma suffers as well.

Increase the resolution and:
- There will be black zones on the maps. People who have used multires know what I mean.
- Skill balance will change drastically. For example, skills that you target anywhere on the screen (flamestrike, teleport, etc) have more reach and thus become stronger
- Bigger resolution doesn't affect monsters! So you have to modify all AIs in the game code so that they can detect you from further away.

Even with all these problems, we are pushing the resolution to 1024x768 (it's a big deal, trust me), and adressing these issues as best as we can, with the limited tools we have. On the other hand, blizzard with the source code and being able to solve these issues much more easily, they don't. That's just the true reflection of their interests (profit from kids) and our interests (keeping the game alive). qq

Nothing more to add there... I know it is hard for you to change the hardcoded stuff, and I never expect them to be changed because after all I will play this awesome mod even if it had to be 640x480, I'm just mad at Blizzard for not doing something about it for so many years...

The work you are doing on the mod is extraordinary already seeing all the pics, and I am sure the community is thankful for everything. I know that Sigma will be the best possible mod that human (or alien? :D) can make for D2, no doubts there ;)

Looking forward to it! Whist, I remember when you started you own mod in ~2012, it's been a long time! :D

P.s: Still waiting for the source to test builds. Maybe one day...

I'm so pumped for this. Just wanted y'all to know.

1024 x 768 is the decided final resolution? Maybe I should adjust my multires to practice - will be a big difference from current 1600 x 900

Out of curiosity, is the 1024x768 res lock something to do with monster detection?
