It's not a selective process, it's automated. The trees are there, and it's the automap's responsibility to display them.
Nah, I meant that you obviously have the ability to change them like you did with your second screenshot, so I figured you can just turn them all off.

Trees in tran automap actually look really nice, although the way I presented it might look too much. Also it doesn't help that laz used wrong tiles for all corners, so there are lots of whitespaces inbetween walls, and that is actually what is hurting the "readability".
Well okay, as long as you can make the map more readable.
