Set compatibility to win xp. Disable desktop composition. Might help a bit.

add -sleepy sleep 1 to your shortcut the same way you add -w for window mode it prevents d2 from using large amounts of your cpu and helps with lag

What is desktop composition? I am running Windows XP Home.

I will try this and see what happens thanks for the advice. At the current time I am testing this with normal diablo and it is running 97-100% of my processor with me sitting in town. I will post updates as I test further as my char on there has a lot of skills on attack/kill.

I have these options ::

Run in 256 colors
Run in 640x480 screen resolution
Disable visual themes
Turn off advanced text services for this program.

Current theme for my computer is windows classic the most basic theme possible.
