It shouldn't be nearly as much a problem with lag on single player compared to TSW.
But regardless, I believe Mahi chose to use 3sec lockout timered Fortress to apply Open Wounds, and Tantrum to help keep Edyrem away from hitting you, while you purify as you can. You'll have to stay far enough away that Uldyssian doesn't put up his shield (when he has a beam of light above his head = shield is up). He puts it up within melee range (I think about 1/3-1/2 screen distance, roughly), and will randomly drop it at certain intervals (usually 4-6 seconds I think?) You have to time your Purify shots to let them travel and hit him at the moment his shield is down (so account for the time it takes for purify to move across the screen). Then just use Tantrum in between purifies and use Fortress when you can (every 3-4 sec, depending on how you spec your skill points, ideally).
To help with some of the lag, reduce any extra visual effects you might have. For example, don't use

If this still fails, you can try to figure out a method that uses

The eagle stance will provide you with the mana regen you need to be able to cast Disco Inferno at a decent rate, and with maxed vitality, will also give you some decent regen (though I think it's one shot deaths anyways. I forget.) If you do this setup, you'll have more options for your weapon, allowing you to make

Also a noteworthy thing is an amulet with Banish on striking proc or
Hooves of the Thunderhorse
. Banish is a small range aoe curse that reduces enemies' max health. It should reduce them about 15-25% depending on your +skills if using the boots oskill. It's marked by little blue curving/swirling lines above the enemy's head, and before you panic, when it applies, it will look like he heals.
*to explain that last part, here is a hypothetical situation to help:
Say he has 100 HP. Banish reduces 20% of enemy max HP.
You've got Uldyssian at 50 HP when Banish applies, so he then goes from 50/100 HP to 50/70 HP. It will
appear that he heals, but if you, in theory, keep Banish on the entire fight, he will die in 20% less time/purify shots. Hopefully this makes sense.
