you are correct. eth = +50% base damage/defense
that means it's multiplicative with %ed
Since max %ed is lower now than it was in the previous seasons, eth is now stronger than it was before.
Does median also includes the "eth socket bug" as it was in vanila after 1.10? Not sure if the newest D2 patch has it though. I doubt so but just curious.
To those unaware of what the bug is:
Before 1.10 patch (speaking about vanila) eth items, (for the example gonna use dusk eth armor with roll 400 armor so with eth would have 600 armor) if you tried to socket normal items with eth affix via cube recipe, the formula would remove this affix and then add sockets. Armor returned would have 400 armor.
After 1.10 Blizzard wanted to fix that but they did it by attaching eth affix on the top of what's currently is - yes exactly formula would use the base of already eth item and then give it eth again. So in numbers, the outcome would be: 400 + 50% eth = 600 as base, formula -> 600 + 50% eth = 900. The only issue with it is that cube formula for sockets gives random amount of sockets, so you have to pray for the good roll (in armor case where this piece can only have 4 socks, it's still up to 50% for the roll as D2 math works as it always rolls as every item could have had 6 sox first, meaning 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 50%)
