I find "Fairy Ring" to be a really odd skill for the javelin tree. Using a javelin just has nothing to do with this skill, and to me it is a disappointing skill to take up the javelin post-devotion slot. It is a fun skill in its own right, but it just doesn't feel like it belongs where it is.

Most people underestimate many powerful 1-pointers like Abyss, Fairy Ring etc. due to weird (from their words) mechanics. In fact, it's a quite powerful skill that can greatly improve your killspeed. You just cast Ricochet for a few corpses and then spam Fairy Ring. If you can get -100 enemy fire resists, this skill will be absolutely devastating in crowded uberlevels.

P.S. I hope you didn't test in at lvl 24 on Hatred Blood Moor? ;)

He meant it doesn't fit the tree thematically. How does summoning a circle of bones or whatever that shoot iron pellets have anything to do with javelins?

ETA: yeah... what cowking said

I'm not complaining about the power of the skill... I am complaining about the feel of the skill. I have played it previously, but not recently, and understand it is powerful. The power really part of the problem. If I want to play a javazon, it is an important part of the build, but the play style is not what I expect/want from a javazon. I would love to play a javazon, but I just don't because I want to kill things with my javelins, not with a bunch of auto turrets. It feels like I am playing a caster. Javazon was a class I enjoyed in vanilla D2, but Median doesn't seem to have a build that captures that spirit.

Should buff all kinds of real melee based builds, melee builds always take lots more tricky than range based build, since almost new bosses seem to be extremely deadly when close range, they would 1 hit K.O anything, despite how good your armor/resistance is. And it need to exactly right click on top of target to make an attack, which is not required for ranger/caster.

p/s: recently, it's the era of ranger/caster, I have never seen anyone take a real melee char to do new uberquests nowsdays, sorry if i am wrong :bounce:

No, you're completely right, the characters I ran for MXL since the beginning were ranged, my first character was a trap rat, my 2nd was Javezon and currently I have a Stormazon (Suchbalance edition) and a stormcrow/broadsidesin

The only melee characters that usually work these days are Melee necro (procs), Spearzon (maybe), and Naginatasin (with Ninja)

Some other characters are left in the dust such as; Dual/Melee barb, melee sorc, clawsin, melee paladin (in general), Treewarden & Werewolf
Visam

The things that would make me happiest is if necro summons's weren't so brightly colored, and if death's fury/howling totem didn't do bright flashing circles around minions, and if burning veil was a shadow/black color rather than bright red. I love playing necromancers but I cannot play one the way I would like because by eyes start burning out of my head from all of the swirling pulsating vibrant colors from the character that's supposed to be a dark summoning master.
