- definitely doable. you could just drop elementals and use melee devotion for this fight at level 120.

1) make sure you max out resistances to like 85-90% . (specifically fire) You can use Pgems for now to get those resistances quicker.

2) make sure to get the act 1 mercenary.
3) make sure you mystic orb your items.
4) invest into making your ice elementals more survivable. getting trophy bonuses , adding mystic orbs , putting more points into elementals. etc...
5) make sure your charms are near perfect.
6) if nothing else works, you can try dropping elementals and going melee devotion if you don't feel like investing that much into elementals.
* Note : I am wearing nothing but the cold sorc Zann Esu set and I'm able to almost speed clear Scolsgen now at level 140. I invested more into my elementals (by adding minion resistances) and snagged myself an Act 1 Priestess Mercenary.

I gotta admit, after some testing Ice Eles are a total no go without Zan Esu Set, at level 8 they simply die wherever you go, Duncraig, Fautzinville, especially Scosglen. They're useless majority of the time since you have to basically keep summoning them every 1 or 2 packs without set bonuses, if you go for 145 to 150 section of the gear i advise not picking up Ice Eles, instead go for Melee Devotion and 24 lvls in Warp Armor + 6 in Nova Charge. I refuse to believe you'd still pick them up if you haven't had Zan Esu set, there's no way they're on remotely similar level to Warp Armor + Melee Devotion.

did you invest more points into elementals or try raising their life or resistances? did you get any trophy bonus for them? did you mystic orb any minion stats, did you min/max your charms for minion stats? i highly suggesting investing into them. before plopping points into the tree and thinking thats all it takes for scolsgen. do you even cast mana shield? currently getting end game gear right now. ill definitely let you know how it goes. if all fails picking up melee devotion will save the build, but im sure you can still have elementals np.

No i did not as i were closely following your guide that did not said literally anything about how to build strictly around them, all the MO sections as well as jewels section specifically tells everyone to go for Ice runes/Crafted Jewels with Fal. I know how it might sound but really, ain't nobody got time to go over 23 pages of this topic to follow every other discussion about the build and it's variation, these information, tips, alternative MO/Jewels in gear should be mentioned in the guide, which is in the first post on the first page. This is the first time i'm hearing about socketing Jewels, MOrbing for Mining life/damage. From what you're saying i take even for 145 to 150 the Zan Esu set would be better if we went with with Ice Elementals, i understand that you're currently level 140, so not quite there yet, but you've wrote this section, it's not marked as WiP so we're all assuming it's the final version of at least that part of the guide, that's why all the problems people keep posting pop up, survivability, dmg wise etc. etc.

And yes, imagine i do cast mana shield, hell, i even keep 95%+ uptime of Shamanka i got, shocking i know.

That being said, i still do appreciate your work, but the guide definitely needs more clarity on more than 1 topic, especially regarding point, jewels, MO and gear.

yea im tranisitioning into endgame gear right now as we speak. ill fill the right mystic orbs once i get them. gotta make some tg real quick so i can get my stuff. ill definitely let you know how it goes though. :) just be patient, and i appreciate your response and reply and point of view. i will be testing it out reall soon and dont take anything offensive or personal, im not attacking you i promise :). i am only trying to open your eyes a bit that just because it didnt work right away doesnt mean it doesnt work at all. the end game mystic orbs were i think a copy paste from the mid game section as a temp because it should still work with the melee devotion tree.

-also update the endgame section so it says w.i.p

Hi dru, Thanks for your tips ealier!
I did good progres but hit another wall now at extreme ubers. Also not able to farm Scosglen. Im playing zann set still because i did not find enough of the endgame gear. Im lvl 133 and at 9khp, res 81.
In scosglen merc dies, ele dies, I die. Should i make my ele stronger in order to recive less damage myself? Or unsocket the crafted jewels in order to get to 85-90.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
Also do you think we can kill every uber in the game?
Which one will be the biggest pain to do? :)

- I wouldn't attempt Scolsgen until like level 139-140.
- If you are attempting Scolsgen before that level, make sure you mystic orb minion resistances on helmet and belt
- Make sure you get the trophy bonus from Idol of Vanity as well, and check your Quov Tsin Charm for max minion stats.
- If your mercenary is dying, stack more dexterity. cap its resistances out , increase the FHR % and IAS % on mercenary.
- For yourself, make sure you raise your max resistances. put some perfect bloodstones in your gear. Replace some crafted jewels to achieve this.
- Also leading with your ice elementals help. Let the minions walk ahead of you.
- I feel like the cold sorc can still run majority of the ubers
- the biggest pain would be sammy probably
* Cold Sorc is already really strong, sacrificing some jewels for resistances doesn't sound that bad.
( im running nothing but the set right now and i can run scolsgen np. you have to commit to the attack. let your mercenary help)

depends what you are doing. if you are just leveling then you want to aim for 135% . the only time you go 175% pierce is if you are doing bosses (charms)

Is there any reason to keep 175 pierce even if you’re just farming? I’m at about 130 pierce. Once I farm my ice runes that should put me around 175.
