Soul of wrath... how?

I haven't played the last couple of seasons, and since the cheese tactics I'm aware of have all been fixed, I struggle hard vs soul of wrath.

I feel like I've tried everything I can think of, but to no avail.

I'm running 90 % fire res, 35 fire absorb, locket of dreams 172 hp on hit and 23k hp. Still my best attempt is 75 % hp.

Can anyone who has succesfully completed Soul of Wrath give me some on tips on how its done? Also, can anyone confirm that his damage type is indeed fire?

Soul of wrath should be easy. How long can you be versus Wrath? What is your total defense or CtB? If you can stand one min, he is dead. Soul of wrath´s damage is magic and fire?

Usually ~~30-40 secs, but I seem to get some kind of server glitch, and I always end up dying a few feet away from where he is. It seems my movement is only sometimes registered by the server, and other times the server believes I am standing still.

I have about 220k def and 3% block or something. Is def and block important vs him?

I have not any problem after remake. Even castersorc can easily solo soul of wrath.
If you can miss the wrath´s attack, it will help to survive.
What is your physical resist?
You can go back to town when you are out of potions and come back.
Try stick to the middle of the room (so above the altar), because I'm not sure if the invisible traps which kill the boss can reach the corners.

Ive tried running various setups, from low 20s to high 30s physical resist - maybe I should craft an Aether (xis) runeword for the extra avoid and see if that will help.

What were your defensive stats when you did it?

What is your class?
Meleesorc is quite tanky but I have completed this quest almost each character.

Im a necromancer. Its most interesting to me that you were able to do it with those stats - I think focusing on fire resist and absorb as I have done is really not the route to go.

I'll try get my physical resist up, and possibly also block.

Are you melee or xbow Necromancer or caster? I am sure that it is possible to restore your life on melee hits. Sorc can restore full life by using one cookie that helps. Fire resist and absorb should help you also.

Can you go back to town when you are reaching low life?

Im xbow, but tried a multitude of specs earlier today when I tried him, all without luck. But currently re-gearing and will give it another go in a few hours.
And yes, but often his hp doesnt move at all. I had one attempt where I didnt die for like 7 or 8 minutes (by going back to town), but his hp had only moved 20 %

Okay, your problem is not items, your problem is location. The invisible traps which kill the boss!
