Hello guys,

I've recently come back to Median XL after a few months' break, and got to act 5 on normal with a new character.

I'm playing on version sigma 2.10.5 now, and my diablo version is 1.14d, although I also tried 1.13c to see if anything would be fixed.

The initial problem is, in Act 5, the Harrogath waypoint isn't lit ever, and is unclickable. Even if I teleport from the Frigid Highlands, I get stuck in town because the waypoint doesn't light up. Aside from this, shrines on the Bloody Foothills are broken, I only come across unpickable shrine effect symbols floating in mid air, despite there being a shrine mark on the map.

So, I tried saving and exiting in Act 4, since the town waypoint works there, coming back in game, and from there, teleporting to the Frigid Highlands, and then I get the following error: Halt, line #1646, Unrecoverable internal error 6fe24e8c, followed by '0x00000000770AF025 referenced memory at 0x0 could not be read'.

I've never had these sorts of issues with Median XL nor Diablo 2 before, so I am clueless. The worst part is that no one else online seems to have this problem except one other guy, who couldn't find the solution from what I saw.

I have seen others saying that the mpq files might be corrupted in this case, so I tried some other versions I found online, none of which brought any effect.

For anyone dealing with this #line 1646 error in the future:

After a few hours of searching for answers, and a few reinstalls, I decided to try using different disks to install the game. A fully different copy of D2 and D2 LoD. This solves the issue. The missing waypoint and shrines, it's all because the files you install from the disk are defective.

See when I was installing with my first set of disks, at the end of the LoD installation there was a message saying something about there being a lack of integrity in files, however the integrity test with the second set of disks came through clean. So the fix is, make sure you have a copies of disks that definitely pass that integrity test at the end of the LoD installation. The same situation should apply for iso, cue and bin files.
