Yeah, the resulting unique will be the same base item type as the item that you cube, and theres only one unique per each item type. Your guaranteed the given unique.

Working on act 5 terror, getting oneshot by detonators, How do you avoid/play around them again>? Do I just need to pump vit? Or is it possible to kit them around? I havent been noticing any skills or abilities, but I might be missing something.

I believe what op meant, is that In the very lategame, you will be using T6 versions of the same uniques that you finish hatred with, not that you need the uniques to be t6 at...
