If you cant release Sigma this year then don't promise it will be released this year.

Imo, better have various minor bugs in playable release version and let the modders fix them in upcoming patches than one major bug that can disappoint you and make you think the mod is unplayable.

Marco said an Alpha will come out this year. Alpha as in bare bones. Beta will probs come 3 months later and a full release can even be 2018 (tho I think Sigma will be fully released by xmas 2017).

They never promised a full release. Only the alpha! Marco even said in the sigma announcement thread that it'll take a few more months until the beta (!) is available. And after the beta comes the full release.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch - this year is still not over. As people said, the alpha will be released this year. If you check previous versions, Marco delivered when he said he would, so there's no reason to think this will be different. When he doesn't know, he doesn't say an exact date, as you can see from various posts where he used the Soon™.
Sigma is being worked on or discussed literally every day in the dev chat. If you read the forum updates (there's quite a few lately HINT HINT), Marco even got Necrolis (!) to help with a pain-in-the-ass problem. Also, you can't expect big projects like this to be easily done quickly, especially with various things making it more difficult. (Keep in mind that probably the majority of people would prefer it to take a bit more time, than releasing it too soon and having tons of bugs and problems - that's what alpha and beta are for too.)
I know you guys really want it and can't wait, but no one is looking forward to its release more than Marco and everyone who's involved in making it. So believe you me, it's going to be released.
