You're clearly missed my point. I didn't stated anything about the absence of the patch notes or "blind patching" as you call it.
It's almost impossible to justify any change that goes through a several iterations in the process of the development only by judging its final result. And if you take into account some of the changes that were made by modifying the game engine - good luck figuring that out without some extensive testing. Detailed version log would only bring the confusion and nothing else. So it's either a complete change log which will include every single beta version or it's nothing (no particular details and numbers) and I highly doubt it would be the first one.
If you still disagree with my point, let's take a look at damage divisor feature that was implemented in MXL17: there was no exact numbers in the patch notes whatsoever except for the fact of its existence. How helpful would it be if devs decided to mention those numbers? Such information would be detrimental if you decided to use it without knowing the actual monster HP, resistances and some other factors.
