I think Median has too many uniques in general. They're divided into tiered and sacred and I think this concept is dated & should be removed.

Go back to Classic LoD base item system where 2nd and 3rd tiers have different names, not just Short Sword (2) or Short Sword (Sacred). Regular uniques would be equivalent to tiered uniques and generally used early game, some mid-game viable. Exceptional (2nd tier) would be mid-game to end-game. Elite (3rd tier) is endgame, high level required and high rarity.

Can u expand ur opinion?
Like what char levels can be counted as mid or early game? Or what stats and lvl req should have normal unique item to be viable through leveling phase?

What do you mean "dated"? TUs are deterministically farmable and provide a baseline power level. It's the same as crafting gear in Grim Dawn or an MMO, or D3 dropping a set in your lap. SUs are drop-only just like CLoD and mostly already follow this pattern of rarity tiers; if you look back at the Sigma 1.0 patch notes, this was the goal. SUs are strong items and/or build enablers that drop in what Median considers "early game", SSUs are even stronger but niche that drop in mid game, and SSSUs are chase items for endgame. That's still largely the case today, the game has just changed a lot so many items they don't really work the same way they used to.

I think it's fair to have an aesthetic preference for clod's base names changing with the rarity, but I really don't understand the rest of what you're saying.

What's the problem with Big Game Hunter set?

It's fine after the throw barb rework. It can carry you through mid game to early end game.

I don’t think too many items is the problem. Variety is great. Skills that make the current items viable would be so much fun! Imagine finding a Buriza, King of the Ents, Astral Blade, etc. and having build options that would make those drops as exciting as they should be. That’s what would get me pumped anyway.

Interesting choices... there are a lot of items that I would call out before those. Treewarden frames are bad, but Astral Blade makes a nice WW barb (just add Fawkes) and the Blizzard Cannon is fine but lesss straightforward than Crucible.

I’m sure there are a bunch I didn’t think of. That really points to the problem though. There are so many items that could be great, but no one uses them, because they don’t fit into any truly powerful builds.

a fine item but semi low minion stats.

Just a very sad set. Never ever seen anyone using the full set, that wasnt to show off how bad/sad it is.
