True, but having 5 different maps for every uber is going to take a lot of work for what is basically a one man team.

Exactly, and it will not be worth making, cause as I said, people will still find best 2-3 variants and re-roll them. So no variations would be better imo. There could be a variation for ubers that are with a set path rush to the boss - like Yshari, Void, Vizjun, KoS, but then again people will re-roll to the familiar/easier one. :)

The one redeeming feature of the easy map + hard map duo (e.g. dunc) is that if you wan't to farm the zone, and not just grab charm reward and not come back, you always have the incentive to improve your character to the point where farming the harder option is viable. Otherwise you are wasting the time running to the cave lvl 2 only realising that you have to reroll.

Basically it's a challenge to overcome and those always feel rewarding.

But anyway this is all offtopic musings, since the actual purpose of this thread, it seems, was to ask this question:

I.e. would players like uberlevels we've done to death for years getting a complete makeover (e.g. whole new map), considering it will be harder? There won't be any multiple options.

(By the way I don't think that the original post's poll question accurately reflects the above, they are kind of unrelated)

Should they have more variants, yes, why not, but in terms of difficulty they should be the same if you can do it that way, not that "oh look is that hard map that I can't do, I will just re-roll it for some easier".

Also, it is an uberquest map, it isn't supposed to be easy thing to do, that's why is it called uberquest.

I like great challenge when I need to take some god amount of time to finish it, and that of course depends on my skills, it shouldn't depend on map "difficulty", if we can't beat some uber, we should then try harder and harder and not wine that some uber is hard.

from my experience with MXL it seems that the deterministic part of the game is kind of what sets it apart from other arpgs that are entirely random. I vote no
