Nope. If you're on Multiplayer you can trade with other players. Single player not possible.

Is it ok that from gem shrines and bosses a lot of chipped gems dropped, though always normal drop from usual mobs?

Andy and the shrines have hardcoded drops. That means that can only be changed when whist finishes making sigma. For now, just don‘t pick them up.

Does it matter if u level a merc up from level 1. does she/he get better stat points if u level ur merc up , or would it still be the same as buying as level 120 merc?

It's the same. Just make sure to buy one from hatred difficulty, since those are the ones with the best stats (at least it was that way in the previous patch. I don't know if that changed thanks to the merc bug fix in the latest patch)

Are any of the sacred set items worth it?
I noticed they were decent, but I'm wondering if they can beat out crafted gear and SUs.

Yes there are. For example witchhunters hood. And that necro shield from malice(?) set.
