Im bad at making guides. But seen that xbow got a whole new skillset! Also found alot of cool xbow stuff (fire based).
Is there anyone with experience from this build ? Also thats got an quick idea on skills, gear and overall How the gameplay feels / bosses / farming.

(Ye some might write ”do it yourself” but.. im Done with trying out builds that just fails)

I'm playing a phys xbow now and it does pretty well both farming and bossing.
You don't even really need a guide for it, I just played it without a guide and it went pretty well.
It can do most content with pretty cheap parts, just when you want to progress further down the labs it get's a bit more difficult.
I haven't tried fire yet, but maybe that works in labs.
As of yet I'm struggling a bit with sescherons destroyer, but thats because I'm not good enough to dodge his lightning reliably.
Damage wise you can take him on just fine.
Other bosses die pretty soon, atanna khan for instance usually dies before the timer hits 1 minute.

Ill try the phys xbow guide, maybe transition to fire later on !

Yeah I'm in lab 6/7 now and can do 5 comfortably. 7 gets annoying because you can't really lure some bosses out of their hiding place, but normal mobs are still doable.
This is with mostly cheap runewords and even some TU's, a witchhunters hood and 2x giant knuckle which I was lucky enough to find.

Allright I made some small adjustments to the build and now I killed him in about 8 minutes, still with very cheap gear.
Seems like the trick is focusing mostly on namelocking him and abusing the winter storm and fires to die when you're low on health instead of trying to heal with the risk of him killing you with lightning.

https://median-xl.com/char/LD-NEC It is my xbow this ladder. Last ladder, phys xbow still needs blood relic to be op, but this ladder after rework, it is even just op without blood relic, lol.

The rework of xbow in 2.6 kinda reminds me of the rework of hammerzon vs stormzon, it is all the same case happened again: 2 paths in the same tree reworked in same ladder, 1 is op while the other 1 is shit.

And besides, I see not much necessity in reworking xbow this ladder. Xbow nec op in 2.5 is due to the blood relic, just nerfing the relic is enough like it does now in 2.6. I see no need to rework xbow itself this ladder since we have so many builds there much more waiting to get reworked than xbow if devs' time & energy limited, like pal builds (Even melee nec esp dagger nec deserves rework more than xbow nec). And once again, after the rework, it becomes even more unbalanced between the phys path and new fire path....

Im not against the rework for xbow this ladder, I appreciate the effort, at least better than nothing, though I think there are more weak and unpopular builds that more need rework than xbow.

Ofc we can foresee that phys xbow will get nerfed in 2.7, fire buffed. And if phys xbow still good in 2.7, keep nerfing in 2.8, like scorpion blade sin....

That's a nice build. I guess I need to use a couple 100 more shrines to craft a better bow :P.
Is it really worth going for specialisation? The extra widowmaker levels don't seem to do that much and theres no hard point synergy.

Y, clearly this build is gonna be nerfed next ladder, so better experience it amap during this ladder :P
Skill points increase the bolts of widowmaker, even soft ones, and bolts are everything, so yes.

Though xbow rework failed this ladder, I have to say that throw barb rework this ladder is good job. Ppl'd like to see more rework like throw barb, rather than sth like xbow rework in next ladder. We dont like another hammerzon vs stormzon rework case or phys xbow vs fire xbow rework case happen in 2.7 again, plz give sth more balanced to play in 2.7.

specialization should be a very late game consideration imo, max out Death Ward first and consider Talon's Hold, i personally found it helpful, kept it at 10+ points most of the time. i don't have good enough gear to just skip survivability in the skill tree entirely

as for weapon Tartarus rw is cheap and very solid, 50% str is wild, still using it even thought i've found some SU nec crossbows.

and yeah fire in comparison is much weaker, i tried it too, a lot less damage for arguably more or at least similar effort

Hmm yeah I guess it makes sense to have specialization later on, I'm focused more on defensive skills now even with famine maxed out.
Only one point in talons hold though for the slow, because labs don't have corpses to spawn your revives from.
