i desperately need help

becoming frustrated as ive been at this all day. i been playing median for awhile and just got a friend hooked but wanna play online with him. followed every guide step by step. i did a fresh install and then used your patch 1.13c patcher to bring my version from 1.14a back down to 1.13c but every time i do this it says patched successfully but then i cant run the game. no clue what the error is either as its a blank box that just says error at the top and i can click ok. im not sure what to do but now that ive done this ive lost my single player characters from median that i had..... tell me i didnt do this all for nothing please??

im running windows seven btw

Your save files are located in users\your username\diablo II\saves

Try doing a full re-install (backup your saves) and download 1.13c then and see if that works.

Hm, we really need a definitive solution on how to roll back after patch 1.14. I would do this myself however not currently possible without fucking up several things of my modding setup.

Once again I would like to kindly tell blizzard to fuck themselves.

ive done the full re install many times already. it lets me patch it from 1.14a to 1.13c but then it auto launches and the game crashes with the blank error box. saves are gone not even concerned about that unless this thing isnt going to work lol

Maybe you could post some screens, as well as debuglog files on your D2 installation. There could be a hint there.

Do you have a file in your game directory called 'ijl11.dll'? Try deleting it if is in there.

Are you running the game as admin? If not, trying doing that as well. Never hurts.

ok im going to eat then reinstall again and then patch down then try running
