[Guide] Median XL 2.0 with D2DX: New Glide wrapper

Every thing was working ok that I tried, except HD textures blocks clicking the create game button in the lobby.

I tried D2GL, but it ran very choppily and the smoothing did not work at all. Whereas this one just works perfectly for me right out of the box.

Few extra steps for D2DX smoothing.

Trying on new PC, I get this error. I've tried setting the nocompatmodefix=true in d2dx-defaults.cfg. Trying to create a desktop shortcut with -glide just launches into direct2d mode. Not sure what else to try.

D2DX detected that 'compatibility mode' (e.g. for Windows XP) was set for the game, but this isn't necessary for D2DX and will cause problems.
Please disable 'compatibility mode' for both 'Game.exe' and 'Diablo Il.exe'.

-3dfx -dxnoresmod fixes, just like the first post says :lol:

You have newer versions of D2DX, by Jarcho for example, anyway.

You are supposed to rename d2dx-defaults.cfg to d2dx.cfg !

Otherwise changes you do to .cfg file won't have any effect.

When running via game exe shortcut, correct parameter is -3dfx, not glide.

You mean d2fps by Jarcho ?

Since it is an addition to d2dx/d2gl and since both can be used already, I see no reason why d2fps wouldn't be.
