- you can turn multiple uniques to shards at the same time, no need to cube them 1 by 1, you can do up to 10
- if you're picking up an item to make into a rw, you don't need to look at the number of sockets, you can use recipes to get max sockets:
- you can do the "Affix Burn Recipe" to turn an item to a superior white/gray item
- then use oils of renewal until you get an item with max sockets (or 0 sockets, and use the "Socket Punch" recipe to add max sockets), and preferably a good amount of %ed and other bonuses if you're patient with rngesus (%dr on armors, and %ar on weapons)
- then you do the lucky oil on the item. if it fails, people usually reroll the item until they get 0/max sockets, good superior bonuses and lucky bonus
- lucky all jewels that you want to put in (you can craft them if you want, as well)
- people usually put in one jewel with Indestructible so they don't have to pay high repair costs for the rw
- if there's a luckied jewel in an item, you can't lucky the item, so take the jewel out first, and then lucky the item, and put the jewel back in
- honorifics and shrine crafted items always have
max sockets and double MO bonus
- shrines only work on
sacred rares/crafts (honorifics only work on magic items, but can work on both tiered and sacred)
- shrine bonuses are here: Site Menu > Game > Documentation > Wiki >
Shrine Bonuses- shrines give their own bonuses, plus random stats that rare items get. you can also use the shrine blessing recipe to add additional bonuses (or bless it with a different shrine for different bonuses)
- +1 all skills is probably the most important stat on rings. you threw a few of those rings away in favor of trash amounts of +% minions stats. +1 skills would give you way more minion stats just from leveling all your minions, let alone all the other bonuses and skills. you can compare minion life/dmg with either item next time (btw i think minion attack rating also increases with lvl). also, there's +% minion stats MOs, but no +all skills MO, so it's more valuable.
- you can max a minion's resists by having its skill at least at base lvl 5, and having +75% minion res stat on top of it (except totems which always have 0% res, but they inherit some caster stats from you to compensate)
- you can fill the belt/tp tome/id tome to full from the vendor with a shortcut (don't remember which one, something like ctrl+right click)
- there's also a shortcut to move consumables from inv to belt iirc? (shift/ctrl + left click?)
- if you ever feel overwhelmed by the item drops, use
D2Stats. it has an item filter (to hide junk items), and an item notifier (notifies you when items from your pre-defined list drop, eg. uniques, some rares, good runes, etc.). it also has other useful features (shows a bunch of stats so that you don't have to count them manually, has auto-nopickup, etc.). users have posted their notifier lists in the d2stats thread, and
here.
