Can I play Median XL/D2 on 2 different PCs with only 1 copy?

Hi, I wanted to play MXL with a friend in LAN or over Wifi and I was wondering if we could both use my copy of the game to play, or if he has to buy his own. We haven't tried yet because I dont know if this is allowed and if it could result in my account or my copy of the game getting banned from use by the MXL people or Blizzard. Does anyone know if this works? Or does my friend have to buy his own copy if we want to play together?

It should work since median xl has their own game servers and they do not check for key-code. You should be able to play median in the sin war(multiplayer) even with illegal version.

If you want to do multi-player via LAN, just find a second serial key on the web
