It's unnecessary and gives information that could be easily misinterpreted. Who's to say the same new player will see that skill X hits 30 times a second and skill Y hits 5 times a second -- and this player is wanting a build that gives raw damage -- so they pick the skill that hits more when the other skill, in the long run, does more damage?
All it does is erase one potential newbie problem (thinking that skills don't multihit so low damage is always bad) and put another one in its place (thinking that more always equals better)
