Can you pick Resurrect as your level 90 skill if you pick skills in the Unholy Tree? I wanna make a pure summoner paladin, but I don't wanna level to up to 90 to find out I can't pick the lvl 90 summon. I couldn't find this information anywhere, so figured here was a good place to ask. Thanks in advance.

If you are afraid of levelling to 90 to be disappointed, I want to disappoint you right now - even if it works, it will be horrible. Reanimates don't inherit any minion stats, and Paladin's minions, even if in better shape than they were, aren't still suitable for a pure summoner build. Just go hybrid. Go oskill if you really want.

Resurrect belongs to neutral, you can't take that on unholy.

I disagree. Servants of Valor are now very strong and make a decent minion, specially when buffed with a high level Spark of Hope. And Resurrects are very very useful. While you can't resurrect all mobs, there are plenty of very helpful ones that make a huge difference, such as Rakkis Guardsmen or Tree Wardens. And many more that are just plain fun. And they are incredibly tanky too, I'd say often on-par with VK in terms of survivability. The resurrect skill gives a massive life and damage boost to offset not getting minion stats.

While I don't know if you can do all endgame content with this build, it was probably the easiest experience I've ever had up through 120s and most 125s. Fautz/Vizjin/Dunc/Teganze etc. are all a complete joke, even without the Resurrects.

I know resurrects are probably the best thing since random demon blood aura shamans on charms are no longer a thing. My point is that it's very unsynergetic with summoner build, it's pretty much its own thing. The best synergy you're getting is some sort of buff / debuff from resurrects, and that's pretty much it.

My experience with pure summoner uhp has been very sad past clv 115. If yours was better, I assume you might have had better gear setup. I have not progressed past TUs / honorifics on it, and never had enough shrines for good crafts. And since I respecced to lemures, I've steamrolled pretty much everything I attempted on that char, so I never went back.

Unsynergetic in the sense it doesn't scale with minion stats, sure I can agree with that. But I wouldnt say it's unsynergetic to a "summoner" build. Ressurects add an additional layer that is totally interchangeable based on your needs. Need some beefy meat shields? Thorn Wardens make great tanks, and Khazra Blood Callers continue to summon more minions. Need damage? Rakkis Guardsman stack HUGE single target damage with their guard towers on attack, Tran Athulua zons can net you dozens of arrows zinging around, Toxotes have a deadly piercing screen-wide multishot. Need support? Many mobs have auras, Cow Summoners have stun and timewarp, Void Archons slow and debuff, etc. I would say it's very synergetic to a summoner playstyle, and a quite refreshing change from cookie-cutter summons if I'm being honest. It sorta feels like how Spectres feel to a summoner if you've played Path of Exile.

Well sure, that makes sense. I don't that know a summondin could ever complete with UHM. And I'm not arguing that summondin is a top-tier build, but I don't think it should be written off as useless. It's quite strong in some places.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will say, with a few tweaks they could make this a decent end-game build.
- minion stats affect Ressurects, maybe at a reduced amount
- allow more mobs to be Ressurects
- increase Ressurects per base level, maybe 1 per 5lvl
- give them some way to heal, maybe a passive heal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just curious, can any of the Scosglen mobs be reanimated? I never made it that far to see.

I agree. My point is that it wouldn't really bring anything to a summoner's build that it doesn't already bring to other builds (with exception of some auras, as I mentioned). And, if unholy branch is desired, I assume for fire damage from the Ritualist passive, it is a very simple decision to go for hybrid instead, only using minion stats from Aspects skill branch (which is frankly good enough for whatever points you may drop in there).

Neutraldin in my opinion doesn't work very well with summons (at least to my taste), and requires pressing too many buttons (pala summons benefit a lot from teleporting and grouping up, so you are keeping up 3 short duration buffs, teleport often, resummon, and also recast your vessels and spark of hope - that's 8 buttons for just the upkeep).

Oh yes I agree, nuetral tree doesn't bring anything special (except for resurrects). I didn't bother with any vessels either, pretty much just summon minions, cast spark of hope on everything, and go. Teleporting wasn't much issue once you get Divine Apparition.

I guess if you were trying to find a silver lining for the nuetral tree, it's that you have more points to spend elsewhere haha.

The issue I found going the unholy route is there's really no way to give your minions fire pierce. So that damage becomes pretty much negligible. Seems like a bit of design oversight unfortunately. Bummer they don't inherit Sanguine Covenant pierce. And it's so unfortunate you can't cast tainted blood on minions anymore.

Ressurects + tainted blood would be a sweet combo.

if minions dont inherit Sanguine Covenant pierce, if thats true its very saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. I wanted to know that, i very like pala summons, once i made pure summon and it doesnt go well, then i switchid to a hybrid combo - HMP + summons and it had a great success, scourges did less damage butt it was enough to clear trash even made all content with it. Want to try some new combo. My question is there any way to break a limit of summons, made them more then 10, with specialisation devotion?
