That is one weird guide honestly. A ranged ATMG char with a need to go into melee mode to get short timer buff for block ? I always though of atmg as a lazy man's dream to play with one hand and kill stuff offscreen or the moment it enters screen. Best example of it for me is - 5 gems for kabraxis charm farming. I did them all with atmg without seeing the mini-bosses.
And if you switch for proc fest (not sure why, most time with all that damage from ways nothing stays long enough on screen to take damage from procs) why not use nimmen axe and polar breath/mountain king/judge sin/rainbow fury ?
Also you did not specify what other attributes you craft on claws and jewels. For jewels i guess you go for LL craft.

My setup:
Craft a shadow blade proc on throw knife, MO it with fast caster rate until you hit brakepoint. SB was nerfed, but still stops enemy for a frame which is enough time for you to react.
Craft a ATMG shield with +1 block, some dex.
Craft a dex boots.
Deadfall belt.
Facebreakers gloves.
Royal circlet helmet.
Hratli's Craft armor for dex, dr, skills and mf.
Rings - empyrean bands.
Amulet - 5 skills with doom if i remember right.

Max ways, perfect being, 19 points into blink - 2s cooldown. Rest goes into queen of blades. MO equipment to have -100 enemy fire/poison/lightning resists. Jewels with leach and attributes. Stats - put enough points into dex to reach max block, rest goes into vitality.

going into melee for max block (+leech) is not a must, it's something you do if the situation requires . if you don't need to block stuff , because you are ok to fight and kill fast from a ranged distance , then you don't have to use bloodbath . in the spots where you get swarmed (bremmtown for example) , you don't go melee because if you want to , the melee comes to you :lol: .and in those situations bloodbath is more usefull to stay alive than having a shield on . leech has a big penalty in destruction while bloodbath heals in the same way as it does from level 1 (and with

also , you get bloodlust from second claw in mid game / 100%AA in end game for an easy max block and higher damage

indeed leech for crafted jewels is the way to go

also , the build is about dual claw , not claw + shield , and the extra boost you get by going for that from Shadow dancer passive , more boost than you would get from using a shield instead of another claw (100%aa ;) ) . you're also forgeting doom from amulet (as proc) has crapy damage compaired to points into the skill , that you also may cast every time , instead of 5% after kill

that's the way my build is played .

if you want claw + shield , yes there could be a few other available options , but i wanted to update it into something 2016'ish

also , what does QoB got to do with fighting from a distance using ATMG ?


edit : - 100% enemy resist to fire , lightning and poison (-113% ) to max the damage from all 3 ways , 46%CB (could go up to 50% with the gear used but the charms used arn't perfect ) , max block , 46% leech + 5% life heal/kill from bloodbath -> 33 seconds duration , 34% critical strike + 522% claw damage from shadow dancer , 2376 damage for doom , 33% thunder hammer on striking , and some of it after kill . used Sots to reach -100% epr with no strugle +10% extra CB and ctc timestrike

screenshots below were taken in town . the life goes higher in the presence of the Destroyer Shaman reanimate , damage also goes higher when burning veil procs and you go trough the wall .

If i recall SMG works like this - you left click on target and it shoots "bullets" from you directly. There is no trap-turrets like ATMG. You have to select each target individually and hold mouse button down until it dies, then select next target. Meh.

I wonder if higher skill lvl adds dmg and what the weapon dmg/aps is.
