going into melee for max block (+
leech) is not a must, it's something you do if the situation requires . if you don't need to block stuff , because you are ok to fight and kill fast from a ranged distance , then you don't have to use bloodbath . in the spots where you get swarmed (bremmtown for example) , you don't go melee because if you want to ,
the melee comes to you 
.and in those situations bloodbath is more usefull to stay alive than having a shield on . leech has a big penalty in destruction while bloodbath heals in the same way as it does from level 1 (and with

also , you get bloodlust from second claw in mid game / 100%AA in end game for an
easy max block and higher damage
indeed leech for crafted jewels is the way to go
also , the build is about dual claw , not claw + shield , and the extra boost you get by going for that from
Shadow dancer passive , more boost than you would get from using a shield instead of another claw (100%aa

) . you're also forgeting doom from amulet (as proc) has crapy damage compaired to points into the skill , that you also may cast every time , instead of
5% after kill
that's the way
my build is played .
if you want claw + shield , yes there could be a few
other available options , but i wanted to update it into something 2016'ish
also , what does QoB got to do with fighting from a distance using ATMG ?

max the damage from all 3 ways , 46%CB (could go up to 50% with the gear used but the charms used arn't perfect ) , max block , 46% leech + 5% life heal/kill from bloodbath ->
