I've been running into that issue too. Only problem is that making it so esc doesn't disable show items might cause undefined behavior. I'll have to test it. An indicator might be possible, but using autoit's gui for it would be a hassle and I've not experimented with calling d2's draw functions. Perhaps print a message whenever show items is disabled while in toggle mode. It's unlikely I'll revert it to how it used to be though, because that was a very hacky solution (d2 stores the show items key state at a specific address. The script wrote to that address every second).

Flat elemental damages is easy. Mercs should be easy - they might use a few different offsets, but the stat list would still look the same. Problem is that the gui is kind of crowded as-is.

i think print message would be enough

for other stats - don't bother with merc unless it's really easy, flat elemental damage would be nice to have tho.

and for gui - I have some idea, but maybe I should draft it first to see if it won't become even worse...
- resists could be put together with absorb & flat absorb
- spell damage together with pierce
- Life (LL,LaeK,LoS,LoSiM) together with Mana - life values red, mana blue

edit: could you also add Magic resistance & absorb ?

haven't worked with autoit gui, but maybe tabs would be better than bunching up 2342342342 stats.

That actually looks really neat, and should be an easy change too.
Magic resist is there already; for some reason I decided to put it below DR%.

Tabs are possible, I've just never used them. At this rate it might be necessary, though.
