i played a throwsin aswell but didnt use maelstrom. i tried respeccing from time to time to give it another shot but even with high end dex the dmg isnt as good.

imo stormcrows is superior atm (smaxed). it isnt as safe as maelstrom since you cant easily kill things which are offscreen but the clearspeed and dmg is much higher.

i did smax ways, perfect being and stormcrows. some points into QoB and some points (3-4) into blink for more mobility. you could also have a claw/nagi on switch and go for 1 point into shadow refugee if you dont get killed while you try to hit sth in melee.... i didnt go for it.

i used similar gear to shnurrs suggestions but with a crafted knife since the rolls can be much better than

. you can get a nice on striking proc + really good flat phys dmg + elemental dmg rolls + you get the double orb bonus. you just need enough shrines and patience.

for the MO's i did go for deadly strike since even with maxed ways, my highest dmg source with so much dex was still phys dmg. (after hitting the 200% cap ofc)

also idk know about ttad on amu since i thought this stat only works in melee and only curse applied ttad like from doom works for ranged hits. correct me if im wrong.

if you go for normal crafts instead of zomg you can also look for:

+max dmg, stats, ctc burning veil, reanimates, flat life, life steal, -enemy resist on gloves
stats, +2 assa skill lvl, flat life, -enemy resist on boots
stats, +max dmg, laek, -enemy resist, +5 assa skill lvl, 1% increased blockchance on shields (my current shield has also 2% chance to cast dire charm, which can help in crowded areas but can also be annoying since it can decrease your killspeed since you cant kill charmed enemies)

also dont forget to get enough fbr on your gear to hit the breakpoints. but since you can use some TU's there should be enough MO space for that.

is superior in the early stages since it has better WSM and your physdmg sucks anyways until you get massive ammounts of dex. it boosts your waydmg through skillpoitnts and decent -enemy resist + gives movespeed and attackrating, which is always nice to have in the early game)

EDIT: also get a good merc. currently im running an a5 merc which really helps a lot since you dont have summons. you really need some reanimates to clear sth like tran. for tran you may even consider using

My initial purpose is farming, so just pick what suits your needs.

Stats: All points on Dexterity (for damage, max block...). Once you feel your killspeed is good enough then perhaps you might want to put points to Vitality for survivability.

Skill plan:
- 1 point on Noctule, I use this as my main skill.
- Max Way of the spider/phoenix/gryphon; Perfect being (for max %avoid)
- Remaining points: Shadow Refuge (for damage reduced and velocity bonus, keep this buff all the times)

In my opinion if your gear has low def you can put more points in dex and reach max block easier and opens MO space for magic find (let's be honest without natasha you won't reach 100k def anyways) and reanimate skeleton. For example the craton proc is pretty underwhelming compared to the hail proc.

Also batstrike is faster than noctule.

batstrike is good if you can switch skills fast enough to constantly proc the novas in succession.

I mainly focus on WDM. As you can see the gear from my post above I have sacrificed a lot of other things to boost damage, so only -15-20% to all enemy resistances.

All that damage from your passiv ways is pretty much going to waste without pierce though

Edit: should at least try to get a lot more fire pierce since you're using path of flames
