Crash upon opening Quests or Skill Tree

Hi guys, I have installed median xl sigma over a 1.14d copy of the game and everything runs great until I try to open the Skill tree or the Quest log. The moment I press on one of the hotkeys or the onscreen buttons the game just freezes and it crashes after a few seconds. I have no idea what to do. Has this happened to anybody before ?

PS: I have established it has something to do with Glide wrapper because when I change the video mode to direct 3d the issue disappears. Still I would rather fix the issue and use 3dfx tho.

Thank you Azeriso. I played around with the settings, swapped between the video modes a few times and it seemed to fix itself all of a sudden. Still don't know what the reason for those crashes was. It even crashed upon entering a waypoint or summoning something, very random.
