Sound stopped working

Median has been working fine until today. Still loads fine, but there's no sound of any kind. Sound is fine in other games.

Avast ran a virus scan this morning, could be related to that, although there's nothing in the Avast log files.

There's an error message at the end of the directSound log file:
"Failed to create a mastering voice
The new instance of IDirectSound didn't successfully initialize"

Any suggestions?

I met such problem too, but weather sound effect still working. I thoght it was caused by webcam drivers instalation. But iam not sure about that

Did a full reinstall of D2, LoD, then Median, sound is back, seems to be working fine.

I can't delete the thread, but if a mod wants to, that would be fine. Cheers folks.
