Wth the most recent changes to the Ice Lance oskill, I thought it would be nice to build a cool low/middle content sniper.

As always: The build is not suited for labbing, can't do anything better than other builds and performs rather mediocre for the investment it takes, but I simply like to play around with such things.

Ice Lance now rolls on belts and boots and has higher max affix rolls.

Besides scaling like a normal cold spell the other scaling vectors are best described with a screenshot of the skill icon mouseover.

Since only off weapon (as in non normal stat scaling weapon wpd) counts - there is one clear key item if you want to build it on a Barb.

Also does that spell say for each phys damage it scales 1% cold damage?

Say you have 10k dex, you get like 1500 csd?

Lhama also cover spell focus, which is much harder to obtain in this build than ewd, and 4 open sockets for Fel runes so it balance out a bit. The +sk also enhance Ice lance a lot. Savage is a good choice to push the hybrid aspect of the build and sacrifice some ice lance damage for stempede, but it's a loss overall likely.
Celestial might be better with umos projects but with the current set up I imagine mortimer valued more the additional sf and pierce of septumos. The char run at 154 pierce so the 7 difference from celestial to septumos is significant.

that is exactly right. Getting 10 k dex on that build is a hard stretch, though. I sit at 7.6k right now.

Lynderika already pointed out the main reasonings for the current setup. It is hard to get pierce and enough SF while also reaching enough energy to get a reasonable synergy BP without putting points into ene at all. then the slvl 100 BP is another important factor.

Funny enough cold spell damage is the least effective and least important affix on this whole setup. The most important things are dex, energy, cold pierce and SF or more or less big free wpd.
Geting a corruption of either of these affixes on gear that covers most of the rest, gives the most freedom in gearing.
