Help! Possibly Bugged Item

I was reading the documentation for Socket Punch and for some inexplicable reason I cannot socket punch this item:




Am I doing something wrong or does Socket Punch just not work on Ethereal items?
This item dropped from Tran Athula on Hatred difficulty if that helps.

You are correct, it is because it's an eth item it can't be socket punched.

not positive on this but I am pretty sure you can use Larzuk's quest to socket punch ethereal items ?
