The only way to get rare rings/amulets is via random drops.

Other than that you can make unique tiered rings with the ring + 2x crystal + oil of enhancement recipe.

Does Charsi accept superiors? Affix burn was changed to make superiors in the most recent patch.

Far as I know, yes; just make sure it is not socketed.

Edit: Unless this was changed in the new patch (I have not updated); I can confirm that an unsocketed superior item can still be upgraded to rare.

Without superbeast morph, maybe.

-170 for heroic bosses, -135 for normal mobs.

hawkins can you explain why you need -170 res values for heroics and -135 for normal mobs? i thought that the way d2 res system worked that any mob with over 100 resist is immune to an element unless you break its immunitys (this is from helping my friend developing the Path of diablo mod so im not sure if median handles this differently but i dont think you can alter this system with softcoding). patch notes stated this

Resistances of regular enemies (includes elites and Uber level regulars):
0 all on Hatred
0 physical/magical, 15 fire/cold/lightning and 5 poison on Terror
0 physical/magical, 35 fire/cold/lightning and 20 poison on Destruction
Resistances of Bosses on Destruction: (15-35)% physical/magical, (50-70)% fire/cold/lightning, (40-Immune)% poison

it seems to me that from this you would only need 50-70% pierce for bosses on dest right? and 35% pierce for farming. Anyone else able to shed some light on this mechanic @suchbalance or @marco perhaps?

New question: I am playing Median XL for the first time and I can't open the Griswold Gift Box from Tristram. Is there something I am missing? I tried putting it in the Horadric Cube and clicking the transmute button...

Read the tooltip on the box - it tells you to cube it with an oil of crafting

Thanks for the quick response. I have looked at the wiki and it was unclear on how I obtain that oil. Do I just need to play more?

Sigh, I am an idiot... Gheed has the oil in his shop. Thanks for the help.

^ What void said. you need 50-70 to get the monster to 0, then -100 to amplify your damage. Same as its always been, i.e. why you needed -199 for heroic bosses in the past.
